  • very good picture! where I can get it? thanks;)

  • He can heal our wounded soul and calm the storm inside... Thank You Jesus

  • this song reminds me the time i lived it Haiti

  • excelente canción me gusta mucho

  • He can heal your wounded soul. How amazing is Jesus!!!!!

  • excelente video! y excelente cancion!

  • God is in the HOUSE!!! (and everywhere btw)

  • no offense but if christianity is a religion, then I'm single... XD

  • @ceryseira -- True Christianity as it was intended to be is a religion. People have taken advantage of religion and "done things in the name of God" before. Terrible, mean, awful things that God would NEVER condone, like war, torture, murder, etc.

Religion can be a wonderful thing, a source of companionship, a gathering of friends and family, a communal sense of hope for something greater. And THAT, I believe, is what God intended for us when He revealed Himself.

  • Awesome! Blast from the past that I had long forgotten... Makes me miss the old days.

  • The Radio Version featuring Dan H and Danielle Young from Caedmon's Call was the first time I heard Dan's voice. 3.25-3.33 send chills down my spine still! Leigh Nash does a good job but I wish I could find the radio version on Youtube. Music is exactly the same right down to the strings arrangement but the voice dynamics are not quite as powerful for me in this one here.

  • All creations denote their is a God and Creator! He is worthy of our thanks and praise most assuredly! Beautiful voices and sounds! Very harmonious, uplifting, and inspiring!!!!!!!! Beautiful background for the vid, wish their were more movement or changes in the video part though. TFS!!!

  • I LOVE this Song Period! ♥

  • hmph. One song made everyone convert. See, this is why I'm Aetheist, I follow my own path in whatever direction I want. I don't tell people 'YOU ARE NOT CHRISTIAN! BURN IN H***!!!! Really people? every religion since the begining of time has said that. Even before Christianity Existed. Before Jesus of Nazerath. Before the first Monotheistics. There was Religion. And they said... 'BURN IN H***!

  • Christianity is not a religion.... It is a RELATIONSHIP!

  • Neither is there Salvation in any other:for among men there is given none other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved. ACTS IV:12 1599 Geneva Bible

  • What a beautiful singer.

  • this song is my favourite spirite pop song. With all my heart, thank you. to EVERYONE, the recording studio the producers, the artists, the songwriters the families, the people the supported.. even to all the people who made it possible for me to hear this song.. including everyone who created the internet, sound recording devices.. computers.. etc..

    Thank God.

  • Wow this brings back memories..

  • Beautiful song! thank you :)

  • first time i've ever heard this song. I LOVE IT. it's very relaxing and it's msg is clear!

  • you know i used to think exactly the same way. but then i came to the realization that the god of catholicism, islam and jews has different characteristics/attributes as the god spoken of in the bible. God is God. everything else is some form of adaptation of the concept of God. we call them "god" even though they've been molded and shaped by our own minds.

  • I don't like to think of God in terms of Religion. Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Jew or whatever, at the end of it all it's the same deity.

  • God and faith work in such mysterious ways.

  • Ask Jesus for forgiveness, ask him into your heart; and in exchange you will receive Him. Then...just let the holy spirit work in you! It is that simple. Glory Hallelujah! Thank you Father!!!

  • Respond to this video... wow,wow

  • "Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!" - Psalm 150:6

  • Here's to my good friends! Be encouraged - God is always with you and will make a way when there seems to be no way!

  • Jesus loves you.

  • Awesome song.

For those looking, you can find this song on the "City on a Hill: Songs of Worship & Praise" CD, you can find it on Amazon. It credits Marc Byrd for the song as he wrote it, but it is performed by Sixpence & Jars on that album.

  • I love the picture! Is it the CD cover?

  • Beautiful song.

  • Does any one have any idea where I can buy this song? (I have looked all over!)

  • @metheargentino i can send it to you by email???

  • @metheargentino city on a hill , songs of worship and praise , available from amazon.com

  • God is so good. I remember pulling an all nighter trying and believing that i could finish all my hw and online test.. Believing that even though it may be so much i will still praise the God for His goodness and they're song came to mind called kiss me out of nowhere and i came across this song my soul was blessed [= God is good

  • I miss Leigh Nash... and honestly, I would know that she's a Christian without this song... Anyway, i don't want to discuss religion here... Just i am happy to find this song.

  • jars of clay FOREVER..!!!!!!!!!

  • that's good song!! and I love the background wallpaper!!

  • so profound and deeply spiritual! this plaintive song always brings me to tears.

  • The song is full of inspiration and very kiut.....

  • I needed this song today. Thanks

  • Religion and God are very complex issues. You can not make each other accept "your" own beliefs especially if it's in the net. If someone doesn't have faith with God, he's beyond human's intervention. He needs to experience God and at the same time, should be open about it. Personally speaking, religion is not being Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc., those are only labels. Faith to God and relationship with Him determine what your religion is. The question is, do you have relationship with Him?

  • @hakkai13gono you are absolutely right. However, YouTube comments seem to have only one purpose-- to break people like you and me. Personally, I don't really understand why these so-called "proud atheists" are listening to Christian bands. Just keep doing what you're doing hakkai.

  • @jennatrapani You don't mean to say that the beauty of this song is entirely its religious character--and can therefore only be enjoyed by those who adhere to the beliefs it conveys? I was once a christian and listened to songs like these and now, an atheist, can still thoroughly enjoy its sound. That being said, I think the message is ridiculous and deluded.

  • @herman1850 No, actually your stance on the music is refreshing, as is the fact that you can convey your beliefs without attempting to force them on anyone. What I don't understand is why people who don't seem to want anything to do with God or His people would look up a song like this simply to attack and destroy the faith of others. My point was that we should stop arguing with complete strangers over faith and religion and instead enjoy the music for what it is.

  • @jennatrapani i agree with you @JessSaying: just ignore my previous comment

    let's all enjoy the music~~

  • @jennatrapani i totally agree. they'll come to God when they're ready. Until then we can only live by example and leave the rest to God.

  • @hakkai13gono

as all we Christians boast, 'we have a relationship with our God, he loves us and through grace we experience his awesome might, and through all these, we learn to love him so much too'

  • @blammerator right.....

  • @hakkai13gono Best way I ever seen and heard it put

  • this song is making me feel soo much better right now

  • Yeah, Jars of Clay one of my fav christian bands. Leif

  • simplemente hermosa!!! <3

  • Thank you Six Pence None Richer,Leigh Nash and Jar's of Clay for pointing me in the right direction! Funny a song should help me be saved after so many year's of searching!

  • amen

  • @fuzzicasi Jesus IS wonderful!!!

  • @fuzzicasi That's SO AMAZING!!! GOD IS GOOD!!! I'm so happy for u!!!! ^.^

  • since everyone out here seems to know that out of all there religions theirs is the right one, anyone want to tell me why there religion is right out of the many out there? i believe god but cant choose any religion, to me religion was created in ancient times to explain everything and for high members of society to blame when they screw up or if they want a quick profit

  • as long as we live, we should prepare a place for our spirit.

  • @Sh3r1ly, I am a christian because when i wasn't a christian, it was like i was empty and nothing i did mattered. but I stumbled upon a relationship with God and i don't feel like that anymore. and i don't think it's fair to judge any religion based off of the so-called followers. mortals have an uncanny ability to screw things up, especially things higher than themselves.

  • @sh3r1ly

Instead of shooting every religion down, I'll instead show why Christianity is right.

Jesus Christ's life, His death on the cross, and His resurrection, and the Holy Spirit changes people, not internal searches or personal works.

No amount of evidence shoved against Christianity can derail it, for our relationship with God defines our religion, not its essence.

  • @MusicRodent Amen !

  • The world is getting Heavy for me. Its all good though, I will ge tit! Why must people argue about God??? I see the black and white, right and wrong so clearly!... Good and evil. I Need christian friends. Especially A New GIRLFRIEND!!! Pray 4 ME, PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • @TrueColors311 all you have to do its to think positve :) there is nothing that you can't have, you'll do just fine, if you have faith, and concentrate in good positive things :) good luck! I send you good vibes ;)

  • Please... All of God's Friends,.. Add me Please!!! please??? Thank Yoouuu (:D So Much... The Wo

  • a szalagavatómon két sixpence-s dalra táncoltunk:)

    greetings from hungary

  • beautifull♥♥

  • @RADnltO,

What do you mean "Allow" it to become fallen?

    He didn't create ants..or robots.

He created human beings in His image with the capacity to either love Him or hate Him.

    That's love.

"Infinite love is creating a creature you know in advance is going to complain"

  • @JessSayin well, if he was all loving, why oh why did he allow sin to enter the world? im sure he saw that coming...he could have zapped that serpent in an instant, but he didnt

why? coz he wants to show off in some later time that he's so loving and forgiving that he's willing to "die" to save and forgive his creations from a mistake that he ALLOWED TO HAPPEN in the first place

  • @RADnItO would you rather us all just be his robots and have him make all the decsisions for us? no. he loved us and allows us to make decisions and will forgive us when we mess up, we are here to bring him glory and when we sin and ask for forgiveness and repent it brings him glory, also this song is beautiful

  • i think the line from the movie Constantine says it best: "God is like a kid with an ant farm"

i don't get it, why create something, allow it to become fallen, and then save it...what a show-off

  • well a programmer can always create a program that tells him that it loves him everytime he turns on his computer :S but yeah lol. the words i love you have more mean from the person that has the capabilities to not love you, well thats what i think lol. and the same thing goes for loyalty, compassion, faith etc. If God stops us everytime we are about to turn away from him or make a mistake then there is no choice, and no real love or loyalty or faith :S

  • Love.

What's the expression of the love of a husband and wife? A child.

God created us, each one of us, individually with so much love, so that we could enter into a relationship with Him. The reason the world is in the mess it is and the reason we suffer so much is becaue we break away from God and reject Him. Love lead God to create us knowing we would reject Him, and loe led Him to become a man and die on a cross.

  • God gives you the choice to come to heaven all he asks is that you simply believe in him and ask forgiveness for your sins nothing else he loves you and wants to be with him it is your choice to do this he does not want to make you love him we are the same way would you want to marry someone who was told to love you or else no you want them to fall in love with you on there own God wants the same thing all he wants is your love nothing more he has done the rest

  • Jars of Clay is a christian rock band

  • This is beautiful!

  • One of my favorite songs to do my quiet time/devotional to and to just plain worship.

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • To BreoAdmin: Philippians 2;10-11 That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And the every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD, to the glory of GOD the FATHER. I have one question for you. Without CHRIST when you die do you know where you are going. I will pray for you my friend that you find this out.

  • is not about religion. its about the relationship that one has with God. its a personal relationship that an individual has to experienced. without experiencing it, you will always have doubts.

  • Being a soft agnostic I don't believe in any particular deity but I do believe that this song represents all that is good about religion; a welcome relief from all the other videos out there which represent everything that is bad about religion.

Praise the Lord(whomever or whatever He or She or It turns out to be)!

  • What is good about religion, exactly?

This would be one of my favorite songs if the word lord was changed to something non religious. Praise the law, even.

  • It's not about religion if it means following rules and never having fun and always going to church on sunday, man.

It's about Jesus Christ coming to earth to take the sins of a putrid race such as ourselves when we deserved the full wrath of a righteous and loving God.

That's what this song is praising God about.

  • Putrid race? There is nothing putrid about humanity besides the majority's stupidity. Religion is the reason we are so vile--in terms of massacring one another. Pollution and desolation is from greed, true, but that's allowed because of stupidity.

deserve? righteous? loving? hypocrisy. He's not righteous nor loving. He's brutal and cynical and narcissistic.

  • Any such omniscient god would be directly responsible for any of our "sins" because he'd have created us to act as we do, be genetically predisposed, oriented to do certain things, and be in control of the situations that lead us to do what we do. We cannot have any real choice, because our choice is dependent on circumstance for which he is responsible.

And he didn't die for my sins. Nothing about his death was particularly special. Two thieves got the same death. Nor is the manner.

  • Part 1 - I certainly respect your right to personal opinion and belief, however I cannot respect your obvious ignorance. Perhaps you should actually have a basic knowledge AND (more importantly) understanding of Judeo-Christian philosophy and theology before you make blanket statements about it.

  • Part 2 - The statements you make about a figure you see as fictional should reflect the story elements as laid out by the originators of that fiction instead of your personal rendition of the story. It seems like you've come to your opinion either based on a cursory reading of a "Cliff's Notes Bible" or perhaps you heard the story from a friend of a friend who saw a movie based on the Cliff's Notes version.

  • Part 3 - If you do consider yourself to be knowledgeable on this, then I apologize for my error in judgment and any offense I may have given. However, I will point out although you claim to not believe in the person God, you refer to Him and His actions as if they are factual (ie; He died, but not for you & He's not loving, He's [mean-spirited]). So it seems as if you do believe in God's existence, you just don't believe in His intentions. Or perhaps I've made another error in perception.

  • You've made an error in logic. How else am I suppose to argue against him if not in the context of his existence for you to understand? You are pulling at a string that doesn't exist. I don't believe in him. Should I refer to him as "it, the concept which you believe; or as him?" It's because I have a maximum character count and this isn't a discussion forum.

There may have been a man named Jesus who was idolized, but he's not really a god nor did he die for me. Not mean spirited--dead.

  • im so sorry for you........ :-( you're so stupid

  • I'm stupid? You had to ask if this was a Christian song. Stop butting into other people's arguments you hypocritical imbecile.

Why should you even feel sorry for someone you consider stupid? That is in itself stupid. To blindly follow a concept that makes so sense in order for us to control you, to send you off to war pointlessly, to accomplish menial labor, to make our lives better. I'm glad you are stupid, not sorry for it. The stupid one is you.

  • For one thing, it provides an emotional safety net on which people could fall back on in bad times, as illustrated by the song at around 1:54. Another is that it sets a moral and ethical standard when laws are not very well defined or nonexistent like in the dark ages. Unfortunately this concept has been abused, manipulated, and corrupted over the centuries by people who have only their selfish interests in mind and are willing to achieve these goals at great expense to others.

  • I don't find believing in a nonexistent being comforting. That's what I have family and friends for. Nature itself is comforting. Not delusion.

Laws aren't for setting morals. That's a misconception. Also, you do not need religion to develop morals or ethics--something which varies by person and experience. watch?v=jnXmDaI8IEo This is on the origins of morality. I just so happened to watch it today, conveniently.

  • Religion has ALWAYS been for power and control. It has always allowed violence. Your understanding of its abuse and corruption are just the realization of the smart people of the era realizing this and using it for their own gains. But what you fail to realize is that this very abuse is the reason religion was invented to begin with.

You won't go off to war to die for stupid reasons if you don't believe in an afterlife. Besides, this is a cruel god, yours you imagine.

  • The fact that was unintentional makes it so much more beautiful.

  • where is this picture from?

  • It is so pretty :)

  • Any such lord wouldn't need praise.

  • Maybe not, but he would certainly deserve it.

  • But he wouldn't want us to waste our time doing it in this manner, when we can simply mentally appreciate it. Writing songs and wasting time praying is unimportant.

It's a beautiful song, but it's a waste of talent.

  • Is it a waste of time to praise the beauty or worth of other things--a beautiful woman, a beautiful sunset? If there really were such a being he would be worthy of our every breath, and we would have no basis on which to say otherwise. Get to know God and you will learn a different way.... You wouldn't feel it was a waste of time to praise your best friend, or to talk to him/her.

  • I certainly enjoy your witty responses, however I'm going to have to cut you short to say that there is no such thing as a god. And if there were, I would despise him as being the catalyst of war, dementia, and the chains which have throughout history bound and repressed human progress. Religion is a several thousand year concept that is obsolete.

I still do extremely appreciate nature, and love every moment of it. Even more so for its random chaotic and unique existence. Godless existence.

  • I have a question for you: Why would God be responsible for war, dementia, and such? That's a very illogical idea.

  • No it isn't. And it's not simply "god". It's religion in general and the idea of an afterlife specifically that allows for war, not cause it though, mind you.

As someone who does not believe in heaven nor hell, nor an afterlife, I hold my life more valuable than someone who might. I would be extremely un-inclined to go to war without it being to protect my family from immediate danger. I wouldn't foolishly risk my life. That is why he's responsible for war.

  • You are also less willing to kill someone else. Our soldiers are able to go to war and risk their lives because they believe that a god is watching over them and will protect them, and that they'll go to heaven. That is incentive for fighting.

Extreme example: kamikaze fighters during WWII. They were brainwashed into killing themselves, but under the pretense of religion. Religion isn't necessary. I don't need it. I have morals. It's simple: I don't do to others what I wouldn't want done to me

  • Hmm... world war II was a 'religious' war??? that's news to me!

I don't need religion either. Christ is all I need.

  • You are right when you talk about 'pretense of religion'. Much fighting is under 'pretense of religion'. The real reason for any war not religion.

But then, all religion IS pretense. God is not religion. He is not impressed by religion, wars or 'morals'.

He just wants to take everyone, who is willing to admit they are ugly and sinful on the inside, at an individual and personal level and make them beautiful and pure.

  • Doesn't matter. Even his existence is enough. Religion is simply the belief in him. Religion is only a pretense, but it is also the catalyst that makes war possible. It is used to control the masses to the sake of the powerful. The reason for all war is power or money, but they would not be possible without religion.

Besides, that he would only take the people who accept him is hypocritical, because he is all knowing and all powerful. He doesn't want to take everyone.

  • "Religion is simply the belief in him"

That is quite incorrect. Religion is not simply belief. Wikipedia is a good place to start research about what religion really is. I quote:"A religion is a system of human thought which usually includes a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power."

  • Simply believing in any god does not make you religious. To quote wikipedia again "it is more socially defined than personal convictions, and it entails specific behaviors".

  • To quote the dictionary: "the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance"

Yes it does. Religion is defined as a belief. It does not entail specific behaviors. Specific religions and specific beliefs entail specific behaviors.

That's not an argument. Fine. The belief in a god is the catalyst of war. Doesn't change my argument in the slightest. Stop nitpicking.

  • I will stop here. You obviously don't understand enough about the english language to see that your quote of the dictionary definition negates your statement that 'religion is defined as belief'.

No more posts from me here.

  • Yea. Thanks though. That fact that you are avoiding my argument and trying to attack irrelevant definitions just proves that you are afraid of it.

Notice how the definition puts god and the supernatural hand in hand? You need to believe in them in order to serve of worship them.

  • Lemme explain why. He is all knowing and all powerful. So let me ask you, how does someone come to not accepting god or his sins? By their experiences? Their heart? Innate evil? Are those not all things that would be known previously and be cause by him?

How can he be giving free will, if he knows the events that will determine our choice, and our choice before we are born? That's contradictory. There is no free choice.

  • And the sick thing is, that he is the supposedly willing to send people, simply for not believing in him, to hell, to burn for all eternity. I don't care if you've killed a hundred people, burning for eternity is far too cruel. And besides, there cannot be such thing as sin or control by the devil, because your god allows such things to exist. He could have made us without the predisposition to supposedly be sinful.

  • People don't get sent to hell, they choose to go. And that doesn't happen just because they don't believe in him, but because everyone has to pay the price of sin and they didn't want to accept the selfless offer of salvation. As I said, they choose to go to hell.

  • But that's my point. If your god is all knowing and all powerful, then you don't get to choose.

Tell me, what determine's someone's ability to choose? How does someone achieve certain beliefs, and decide what they choose to do?

Would you say that experiences define a person's personality and choices?

  • It's a shame such a pretty voice was wasted on this religious garbage.

I love kiss me, there she goes, and don't dream it's over--but this song is nauseating.

  • This song is awesome.

  • like a raven in the sky

high on the mountains of fear

    sent out from heaven

    to preach the gospel

    no breach no heathens

    remorse in wispers

    but you are faithfull

    thus I stand and fly

    a raven in the sky

  • like a raven in the sky I fly to you to repent my sorrows and emptyness All hours I've rend cant buy your love still in your hands God lend me some wings to fly back in your arms for every hour in the world sitting on corpses of selfrighteousness no diligence beyond the cross lend me some tears to come back
  • yes!!!

needful hands was one of the first songs i heard that turned me toward christian music

  • praise the lord almighty. great band

  • Very , Very nice. What a beautiful song.

  • this song makes me just want to run... is that bad thing??

  • An amazing song... with every breath...

  • I recommend:

"help me open my heart to you" by Sixpence and "Needful Hands" by Jars of Clay..... both coming from EXODUS album, Rocketown Records, 1998.

  • You mean "Brighten my hearth"

  • Brighten my Heart is an awesome song!

  • great performance and great spirit, Sixpence and Jars!

  • this is the song that i used to play while im doing my project last summer class..

thanks for posting it here in youtube..

  • i love your background where did u get it from?

  • i love this song...let everything that has breath, praise the Lord =)

  • there's another Sixpence's song called "Breathe" from the album "STREAMS" (various artists) .

I have a copy of the track.

  • That is what I want to hear.

  • @Tabitha0302

This song is not on an actual Sixpence album. It's from the album called City on a hill, made by various artists.

  • Yes,I know that it's from the City on a hill, but i thought there are more City on a hill albums. Or not?

  • Yes, there actually are 4 CoaH albums. This song is from the original album called 'Songs of praise and worship'. :-D

  • Wow! Okay, thanks. I'll ask for it by my cousin, maybe he has the album. This song is so beautiful!! =) And maybe can't you play it on the guitar? I'm just asking it because I would like to learn it! :)

    God Bless You! :)

  • LoL ^-^ i wish i could!

    GBY

  • Can someone tell me on which album is it?

  • With every breath with praise you Lord Jesus !!!!!!

  • LOVE IT!

  • good song thank youu!! :)

  • Can someone send me this song? I remember I used to have this cd but I can't find it anywhere.

  • Can someone play this song on the guitar? I'm so happy to get to know that it's a Christian band :) I haven't known it!! =)

  • oh gosh dont argue with a song made for praising.

  • people follow cults and religions because they want to be parented... It's the most common false path on the true spiritual journey... Religion is like a man selling bottled water by a free mountain spring...

  • Religion is more like a man giving away water by a free mountain spring and asking for donations. Pretty sure every church I went to never once asked me to pay to be there, just offered the chance to help funding what they were doing.

  • OK, I guess many people here have their minds stuck... That's why all that "thumbs down"...OK, I understand now...I am not gonna argue with you anymore, have peace

  • GOD is GOD,,others call Him what their translation is in their respective tounges,, tho if it is Allah,, buddah,,mohamad..there Dead Wrong..Jesus Is the Son of God..others in mentioned above Do Not claim Jesus Christ..it is a wrongfull decision on their part,,if you call the Power that Created existence God and His Son is denied, in Any way..you and every1 else is Wrong,,,God is God and they are Not..Praise Jesus Saviour our King, Reedemer,,Praise God for His Son..not buddah, or others..

  • The Buddah(s) and Muhammed are not gods, and as far as I know no one has ever claimed they were.

I don't disagree with your overall point but if you're going to make comments like this then you should at least know what you're talking about.

  • no one eh? you must have never heard that spoken of those that where mentioned, though I have heard it many of times, whatever people, whoever people choose to worship other than TRUE Almighty Living God, is considered a god, thru the eyes of God, notice the little 'g' to the Capital 'G'. So in that sense Yes I Do know what Im talking about..Jesus is Truth...Love God the Father and search His Word..God Bless

  • The fact of the matter is that they are not considered gods in their respective religions, no matter what you may have heard from the less-informed. Think; they also call Muhammed "The Prophet". The Buddah(s) were also considered messengers. Allah, however, is considered God (Yes, capital G, grammar is based only on the difference between polytheistic versus monotheistic.) Supposedly the same God as the Jews, and the Christians. The difference is in the prophets and the holy texts.

  • who do you trust in? who would you consider to be The One True God, as the Lord states "I Am that I Am" ? God bless you my friend and hope you trust the true God, Jesus Christ..

  • love this song

  • this song is so pretty ^_^

  • there is only one true God and he is not buddha thats a completely different guy (who isnt real) and a completely different religion

  • If you want..tell me what you understood....just to make sure..

  • Okay..thank you for replying..I am a Christian Orthodox...u don't have to tell me what I already know..I think that no one in here can "get" what I am trying to say...What's wrong with you people? That's a universal problem...people can't use their own brains..and just "get" what they 've been told to..sad but true

  • i sooo love this song it is soo calming or something like that
