If you notice the car is steering to the left even after the hit suggesting the first contact damaged his steering and it looks like he is deliberately steering into the truck but I doubt it. The trucker should not have tried to steer away it is big enough to counter the car weight with power steering and momentum -Artic truck drivers should never try to steer out of trouble keep it straight and brake hard.
It only takes part of a second of "I-don't-believe-this-idiot's-doing-this" (while the idiot does it). So (with no love lost) I will not call the trucker at fault. I once ruined a much smaller truck because I didn't believe some idiot was doing what he did.
Can't really tell if that car-driver was claiming a West-Virginia-right-of-way or trying to gimp happily-ever-after on the settlement. No matter which, that idiot could have caused a number of fatalities. Hope a judge acted accordingly.
while i blame the driver of the car,i know for a fact that pepsi's weekend truck drivers are among worst of the world.so was it a weekend warrior driver or not?
A David and Goliath accident. I'm going to remember this video. If a car ever comes into contact with one of my steer tires, I have to have the presence of mind to keep my grip on the wheel. I can't let the car alter the direction of my truck like that. I don't know if the truck was empty or loaded, but if loaded we're looking at a WHOLE LOT of shook up Pepsis! Kudos to the drivers in the opposing lanes for their quick reflexes.
4-wheeler was not paying attention, ran into Pepsi's steer tire, and pushed Pepsi (the truck) into the median, causing a violent rollover. I think the 4-wheeler got a ticket for road rage after seeing how hard the 4-wheeler slammed into the truck, despite the truck driver's effort to stay in his lane. CLEARLY THE CAR DRIVER'S FAULT- he must have had a serious pepsi craving and wanted to take it straight off the truck instead of going to the store.
If you look at it closly (0:14) the car came into contact the tandams which caused him to loos controll and fly into the steer tires of the truck.
Just another four-wheeler with his head up his ass, I am willing to lay money down on it that the driver of the car was yappin away on thier cell-phone.
That trucks tire rode the median for a long time. That's the only that saved those drivers from being crushed beneath it. The tire kept it from fully landing on its side in time for them to escape. I hope someone beat the ever lovin' crap out of the driver of the silver car and made them swallow their cell phone. People texting while driving makes ME want to drive in to them this way. Put your f-ing phones away assholes.
@NeoMandalore I hope you're talking about the 4 -wheeler.. because you can see due to the 4-wheeler Stupidity trying to come it to the 18-wheeler lane . Then losing control of his or her car running into the steer wheel of the truck. which in turn took control of the truck steering .. so basically the car had full control of the truck. nothing the Pepsi driver could do to stop it..

this is weird ccause theres no skid marks or dents in the road from the truck or anything even the concrete block but there is a slight dent (not to sure from camera)
@SkateBanana101 simply fix to that problem, take off your head set or turn off the volume and I would rather listen to metal then that shitty ass rap or hip hop bullshit so stf
@kennysuavo It's real, I don't live in the area where this happened (somewhere down South) but it made my local news in CT the next day. I'm a trucker myself, seen this very thing happen to a driver directly in front of me a few years ago. Absolutely the scariest thing I've ever seen in person.
Dumb fuck probably texting. 75% of all crashes involving trucks and cars are caused by the driver of the car. People always drive like shit around trucks, I just don't get it.
If you look at it from 0:16 - 0:19 it looks like he maybe got to close to him on the turn then freaked out and jerked the wheel over and then over-corrected turning into the semi.
The car hit the steer tire, pushed the tie-rod to the left, would have the same effect as if the truck driver yanked the wheel to the left. Being a truck driver myself, this video reminds me how dangerous it is out there. The trucker didn't have a chance, it was over before he even knew he was hit.
@fnfal308 just because we are aloud to have a GVW of 80,000 doesn't mean he was fully loaded ive had plenty loads that are under 10,000 in the trailer to a GVW of only about 45,000or less and with that in mind the driver most likely tried to avoid the car and couldn't correct before hitting the wall
as a truck driver myself, all the trucks i have looked at the tie rod is behind where the steer tires connect to the axle, meaning the tie rod moves to the right pushing the rear of the steer tire to right and the front to the left making a left turn, im not saying the car hitting the steer tire had nothing to do with it but do some research on the truck before you agree with anyone.
Truck looks like a international which have this type of steering.
Freeze-frame this to where it looks like the car first bumps the semi, then deliberately (?) pushes the semi all the way across the lane . . . Xtreme Road Rage ??

it wasnt the little cars fault. it was only partly his fault cuz you can see he loses control on the corner and swerve into the truck by accident.
BmxerGuyIsh 1 year ago
@BmxerGuyIsh so that makes it entirely his fault. If you loose controll you were driving beyond your ability or road conditions.
