she actually only truely dies once, the 1st death caused by the master was a cardiac death with her brain still alive, but still dead. the 2nd was caused by mystical energies which is why willow manages to ressurect her by calling osiris

as for spike, cant remember really how he came about again, but he was back as a ghost in angel se5 then sumhow got his body back.

and buffy is still continued in comics and on season 9. whedon is done great and made alot of great new things in the buffyverse

It's not what happened in season1, they assertively stated in SE1 that she had a cardiac death and SE6 she went into cardiac arrest, and arrest is when you are rendered uncounscious and your and blood circulation is arrested. SCD (cardiac death) is different, it's what happens when arrest isn't treated early enough

You are grade A dumb, as in inarticulate. Of course her heart stopped, she was blatantly in cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest isn't death, SCD is what the arrest leads onto, then and only then is it qualified as a death.

Responding to the whole no new slayer thing. According to the whole one slayer per time thing when Buffy died the first time Kendra came. And then after Kendra's death Faith came. Buffy already died so I think unless Faith dies a new one can't be called over Buffy.

I know in season 5 she actually died, I don't remember a new slayer coming. When she died in the first season, I do remember Kendra coming. Then Faith came when Kendra died. I guess there were really busy in season 6 to be concern with a new slayer.

If you remember in Season 7, the scooby gang found out that with Buffy dying twice and coming back twice tipped the balance of good and evil out of whack, the First Evil decided to send it's minions (Bringers) to kill all of the potential slayers, to bring back "balance" and destruction of the world, yada, yada.

i think what happens, is the slayer line goes through the most recent slayer, so buffy could die 30 times it still wouldn't matter. Faith would have to die for a new slayer to come.

I think it's becuase Faith never died..she was in a coma, but came out of it. So they didn't need a new slayer.

@playrealnice That was in season 2, episode 16, Bewitched,Bothered, and Bewildered. In season 3 ep14 Bad Girls a vamp Buffy and Faith are fighting tries to drown her, and in ep 15 Consequences Buffy dreams Faith is drowning her.
