thanks this helped alot i passed my CBT on a scooter and now hoping to get a 125 in a few months time, ill just have to spend a few days in a local carpark, btw great vids cheers
actually really helpfull. i felt kinda dumb watching this beacuse i used to ride trail bikes alot but getting ready to buy my first real motorcycle and realize its been a while and ive forgot a lot.
I'm hoping to get a motorbike license when im 18, but my dad said i have to take a moped driving test and when i pass that i have to take the motorbike driving test, Is this true or can you just take a motorbike driving test?
@miniadult12 he might be talking about the cbt, thats the test you have to do before you can do the motorbike test. IN the cbt you can do the test on a scooter or 125 geared bike
Hey I've been riding dirt bikes for about 6 years and i'm almost 16. So i'm gonna try go for my road bike licence. I'm very used to the clutch and gear changes, but will it be the same as a dirt bike or different?
@ScalpulusAU If your dirt bike has a manual clutch, then it should be the same on the road bike. You should probably get some seat time on a road bike before taking the test though.
Some more beginner advice is to forget the front brake at very low speed. You will be so much smoother if you use the rear brake only. Remember this is just for low speed control.
The best advice to start riding is confidence. You MUST have confidence in yourself and your decision-making when riding and even learning to ride. Never half ass anything or you will end up half assed in the hospital.
@texlyon No, they aren't all the same. Different instructors, different perspectives. Sometimes a certain instructor can explain a particular concept in a way that's easier for you to understand.
hi, im very new to riding and im having ahard time deciding what to buy. Every person seems to have different opinions rearding starter bikes. I was planning to directly go for Ducati 848 coz i dont want to waste the money on buying smaller bikes. Any suggestions?? Cheers
@sharkybmf I'd spend at least a year or more on a starter bike. Because, just when you think you've got it down and you are an "experienced rider" you screw up as soon as you get on a big bike. If you are really tight on money and want some growing room. I'd buy a 600. And trust me that is PLENTY of power rather pushing it actually for a starter bike.
@TheTechController On smaller sport bikes normally there is no reverse gear, for it is very light and you can walk the bike backwards easily. However, there are a few touring bikes that have a reverse gear just because of their size. But generally, motorcycles do not have a reverse gear.
@Carpythesharky i was only joking.. i knew bikes have no reverse gears but now that you've mentioned about touring bikes using them, gotta say I've learned something new. thanks
hi im scared about getting a bike and messing up the clutch at the stop lights can any1 tell me when you stop at a red light do you go all the way back to 1st gear and then when the light turns green slowly let out the clutch to go ? thanks
@AaronO220 When you are coming up to a set of lights or any place you need to stop, you want to be moving back down the gears smoothly till you reach 1st gear whilst stopped. Don't kick it into neutral when stopped because some people will not see you and take you up the ass.
When moving off from a stopped position you want to keep a constant throttle at around 2-3k (depending on bike) and release the clutch gently so you start to move again.
PLZ HELP ! when do i know i have to shift gear down in order for the bike not to stall and switch off ? Third question : can u shift from 4th gear to like 2nd without letting the clutch go on the third ? my Third question. i heard its okay to shift up with a clutch however its very bad for a big to gear down without a clutch its that true, cuz i wondered how to change gears so fast . Please help, ide appreaciate it =)
@militarybound617 From what I've heard, if you want a new bike, not too powerful, great quality, you could try Kawasaki's Ninja 250R. You can always try something bigger of course but that's your preference. Otherwise you can go on sites like Craigslist or your local dealer's shop and purchase for a used bike in good condition. Really depends on what you want in a bike and how much you want to spend on one.
@hawaiiankid3 what are other good starter bikes like the ninja 250 R that are out there. i have hear many good review about the 250, but i am just wondering what other options are out there?
Thank you so much i am obsessed about motorcycles recently and im 16 and i am so in love with motorcycles i wanna ride for the freedom and how they just look so damn cool with thr helmets and the shape of the MC.
my friend does have a dirt bike so im use to the gears and throtle and basicly everything. i want to get my license for a bike when im older thanks xD
Hey uhh, do you know how to change up gear without jumping? I just got my L's (australia) And it occasionally happens when I'm riding and I'm not sure why.
@MrTripsJ hey, well it depends on weight to power ratio :) i just bought myself a cbr250rr fireblade but my mate rides a 600 on his lz and yes it is legal :)
@MrTripsJ RTA website has a list of learner legal bikes - also a lot of the bike shops/dealers have sections on their webpage for "lams" bikes (not sure what it stands for but something to do with learner approved bikes!!) Totally recommend the CBR250R, I am a very new learner to bikes and I love it
thx for the video ..its help alot ...cant wait until i got my own sports bike ..rite now i only have scramble bike ...not fast but still good speed =="
your a smart guy, and also explain things perfectly.. Just finished watching both parts of this video.. I never rode a bike before, but im highly considering buying a 750 gsxr. I fully understand how the clutch and everything works.. i have a manual jetta that i learned on, but obviously its not a bike. Being almost 21 years old, do you think a 750 is too much? I guess i could consider myself a safe driver. But im just curious from youre experienced point of view. Thanks a lot for the video bud.
