  • You can't say "Rangiku" without "geek."

  • The Captain S impostor was easily the highlight of the video. It almost makes me wanna dress up as the Captain for Halloween.

  • Ahh! I was at that convention! ^_^

  • the captain S series it's cool. it's video this funny

  • GAH! You've gone and got me in a cosplaying mood, damn youuuuuu! And no cons for, like, a few months. Damn!

  • awesome

  • READING YAOI LOL

  • Anime fans are weird. :/

  • reading yaoi at the end was just too awesome, gotta love anime cons

  • Anime Gets the kick!

  • Anime Conventions are attention whore magnets.

  • Holy fucking shit!!! I like anime but I NEVER want to go to one of those places due to the amount of freaks.

  • Fuck you, they are regular people. They just dress up because they like certain animes, they're not freaks. Think of it as a huge costume party. And you meet famous people there, so lets put it in words for you...YOUR A DICK!

  • ok , ill give you that , but what about "catboy"

  • There's nothing wrong with catboy. It only matters if they're having fun. I, however, have a blast at Anime Conventions.

  • fine , what about that dude that said "will you bere my children"

  • He was most likely joking.

  • or possibly a freak job , not saying al anime fans are junkies , but when a guy goes around saying bere my children i get the shotgun

  • He was cosplaying as Miroku, who in the anime he is off of , Inuyasha, actually asks that question to every girl he sees.

  • ....... fine , but maybe those girls he was telling didnt like it , how do you think they felt

  • They should've gotten the joke, Inuyasha isn't that obscure. And they knew he was cosplaying as Miroku. Besides if you know you can potentialy get hugged at a convention by a complete stranger, that simple question shouldn't be to scary.

  • ..... ok , but how come there are million cosplayers of adult swim anime , but there are very few video game characters , i mean you never saw any clouds till they made advent children

  • Well that was an Anime convention so more anime characters are going to be there and so video game characters are less likely. Advent Children is considered an anime that is why people just barely started Cloud cosplaying, becuase It wasn't an anime untill Advent Children. And also FF7 is old and Cloud's costume just looked like a purple second skin due to the graphical limitations so it would be hard to cosplay as Cloud in the first place.

  • blue shirt , black pants a sword and a piky wig , simple , and advent children was kinda sucky compared to the game cause it made cloud and vincent emo ,

  • What possesses a grown person to dress up like some kind of anime character? Jeeze.

  • Oh, I dunno, maybe because IT'S FUN?!

And there's nothing wrong with a bunch of fans having a little FUN.

  • Pretty cool video! I'm a big anime fan myself, so conventions are pretty fun (if you go in a group, definitely). I'm also a Captain S fan, so I'd be awesome if I were to bump into you at a con, lol.

    *looks around*

Jeez, awful lot of anime haters on here. Why bother watching something you don't like? Whatever.

  • i like anime but im not going to dress up like an idiot

  • Wussy.

  • Anime people are douche bags.

  • So are people who make fun of them for no reason. Go kill yourself before I beat you to it.

  • Hard words from a hard guy, i guess we should all be affraid. Just stop the all this now...its getting to a level beyond just simple internet-arguments,

BluntmanEXE is ready to beat us to pulp.

  • I will stop, out of respect for Brett and the rest of the PBC crew. And if the rest of you are as mature as you claim to be, you'll do the same.

  • Respect :)

  • LOL you saw someone Cosplaying yourself! That's pretty cool.

  • awsome

  • lmao that dude was dressed as captain s

  • This says a lot about Japanese culture..

20 year olds dressing up like characters form their favorite animes wish in Japan is made for 12 year olds.

  • Not all anime is made for 12 year olds.

  • Most of it are.

If you live in japan you will notice that its not as cool and socialy accepted as forginers think to be a total geek.

All the big animes in the states like Naruto and One piece is not really made for grown ups.

  • I will agree with you that some anime is meant for kids but in Japan, the kids are more mature so what they think is kiddy might not be kiddy for American children.

  • Hmm...well i would not say kids in japan are more mature then western kids.

But what you say is true, japanese animation usualy have a more complexed story line, even if it`s made for kids.

For me it`s just a bit shamefull to see that this is te actual people who really love japan, a bunch of outsiders who have this imaginery dream about japan and how it is here.

  • Yeah, it's not bad to like anime but if anyone acts like these losers then they need to get a life.

  • 4 real!

  • Yeah, insulting people over the internet is SO much cooler. While we're at it, belittling a country's culture is also cool! <end sarcasm/>. "Anime" just means animation. A movie can be made with animation and the content can warrant a PG-13 or R rating for example; there's stuff for all ages. Watch some good anime, like Elfen Lied, Akira, Gankutsuou, or Death Note--they have much more intelligent story lines and most certainly not intended for children.

  • Im not trying to insult you...megamanx411..

I love animation too, att the Ghibli movies, Akira, Tokyo godfathers, Tekkon etc. This is well made and beautifuly drawn movies that deserve the attention they get.

But thats not really they anime for the mainstream audience in america and europe is it? The otakus mainly fucuses on the in my oppinion crappy, childish and far from well produced animes with 12 year old ninjas in then...(just an example)

  • Most TV stations seem to be under the impression that anime should fit under the children's bracket--hence the massive censorship (take DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto, and other such shows). Adult Swim (in addition to Anime Network as so forth) have been airing pretty decent animes, such as Ghost in the Shell, Blood+, as well as great shows like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop (which have been on for years now). As for the "otakus," well, most fans around age 15 fit your description to a T...

  • To continue, if you actually go to cons, meet with older fans, who appreciate well-done anime, and it is starting to become more mainstream (compare what was available 10 years ago to now). I believe that the reason for the poor reception by anime fans is the vocal, annoying, 15-year-old otakus. But, if you get past that, you'll realize there are plenty of intelligent anime fans out there.

  • Yeah, i get your point...i guess im a bit bitter about the fact that most of the anime-fans that live or visit in japan are really annoying know it all people with no touch of reality what so ever, just dwelling in Akihabara all day.

But i got respect for people like you, i apologize for sounding rude.

If you get the chance check out the movie Tekon kinkurîto, its really beautiful i every way. The style of the animation is like nothing you ever seen before.

  • I'm sorry for getting upset in the first place, lol. I suppose I just don't like it when I'm compared to the more fanatical bunch. Admittedly, I am learning Japanese (I've finished one year of it in college) and plan to continue and will study abroad in Japan. I love anime, but that's only one of the things that made me interested in Japan in the first place, not the only thing. And yeah, I'll be sure to check out Tekon Kinkurito. ^_^

  • Good luck with the japanese studys, im trying my best to learn some basics but its a really hard language :S I think you will like Japan alot. I noticed that forginers is comming here like crazy lately. Since 2004 the turism in japan has exploded. I guess becuse our generation is starting to grow up and make money to go to the place that amazed us when we where younger.

  • It is difficult, but it's a lot of fun. I suppose it helps that I have friends interested in it as well, and that I also have hobbies that involve Japanese (I've tried watching anime and reading manga in Japanese as well). Hopefully, I can become a good journalist that works between the US and Japan, preferably centered in the entertainment industry (gaming specifically).

  • I would like to add though: cosplay is pretty fun. It's nice practice in sewing and other such skills, but at the same time, it's good fun. I think of it like wearing a jersey of your favorite team when you go to a sports game. I remember making a cosplay of the character Izumi (from the manga series Fullmoon wo Sagashite) and really impressed some people there.

  • I wish you luck, just keep ur goal and be focused, it can take you very far. But remember...japan is not always the dream-country its cracked up to be. Life here can be really hard at times. But if you come here as a turist at first im sure you can get a feel for the country.

    Izumi..? Are you a girl?

  • Some close friends of mine have already been on an exchange trip to Japan, so thankfully they've already given me some advice on it (and loads of pictures). By the way, I am a guy, lol. The character is also male.

  • Good then, Izumi is a girls name if im not way of :)

So when are you commin here?

  • That I don't know yet. I'm still saving up money in order to go, and since the exchange program is over the summer, I'm guessing it will most likely be summer 08 or summer 09. It really depends on how expensive school is and how much I can save for it, lol.

  • Well..good luck in any case. :)

Come before its to late...foreigners is invading this country as we speak! Hehe.

  • Geeks.

  • Captain S, you used to be cool! Now you're looking at yaoi! For shame! (*sarcasm*.....Though I still hate yaoi.)

  • I was there at AMA but I don't remember seeing this guy... Wish he would stopped for us.

  • Great...you interviewed Twinkie...[Girl with the Yaoi on her cam]

She is one weirdo...tried to make me dance all AMA.

Cool video. Brings back good memories of AMA 07

  • Great Video Guys, BTW I was the guy in the Captain S csotume

  • this was hilarious in all the right ways.

  • he was reading yaoi

and How did they confuse him with a fake one

  • This is an embarrassment. Where were these peple in high school? Oh that's right...they sat at the loser table.

  • Anime and cosplaying is for freaks

  • We may be freaks, but at least we're not hopeless pathetic assholes who have nothing better to do than insult people's hobbies over the Internet. Do the universe at large a favor, and go fuck yourself and die. Twice.

  • holy snap i saw myslef

  • I'm in the video at 1:18

  • duuuuude, AMA kicked ass! piano squall was //amazing//. <3 i have a pic of gir and grevious together. XDD

  • those are my friends you passed at 6:29!!!

  • At 8:21 is a Daft Punk song.

  • Damn, I wish I would have known you guys where in town, I could have gave you a place to stay! I need to pay more attention!

  • Haha

The kid in the gir suit is the drummer in my band

    xDDD

  • All I have to say is your man on the street interview style is second to none! Great job guys! You are all stars! Brett, seing you envied at the AMA must feel like being Peter North at the AVN awards: Hot chicks, guys who want to be you, and crossdressers galore!

  • Yes, that was great.

  • XD nice vid. I was at AMA too, experiencing the joy of free hugs and whatnot

  • What, there was no one dressed up as Vegeta? I was surprised about the hot anime girls. Definitely better than the video game convention I went to that had only 18 year old dudes with scraggly facial hair, black t-shirts, and social awkwardness.

  • wtf

  • dude you got burned by a poser of yourself

  • Gosh I wish there were more things like that here that don't involve me going all the way to London...

  • God I'm sorry you had to see that fangirl's camera. I'd have just left >_>

  • i laughed on the man faye

  • You know what would have made that convention better? SHAKES! haha..eh...someone had to say it.

  • hahahaa, funny stuff guys. THere was an oddly high ratio of hot chicks to ugly ones at this convention.

  • lol one thing i find hilariouse about Anime conventions is that when it hits night time, they all get together in this giant orgy-like pile and start dancing to anime music.lol

  • Brett, looking at Yaoi shame on you, lol great video

  • Haha, stupid Otaku's! :p

  • YAAAAAY Go Chad LOL I mean Captain S I hope that everybody loves it and I hope for a new season.

  • Anime fangirls are hot...but kinda creepy. Anime Conventions: Leave your dignity at the door. Then again, if you have dignity you probably don't go to anime cons anyway.

Anyway, it's way cool to see that Captain S has such a fanbase. You guys really do a great job with that show. Any news on Season 2?

  • Haha, was the guy dressed as Captain S from the PBC forum or just some random guy?

  • It was a random guy.

  • Warning: contains Yaoi....and Captain S

  • Wow, you found someone else in a Captain S costume. That's gotta be both a great feeling to know you have amazing fans...and a little bit creepy...
