Probably most intense moment i have ever experienced in a video game. It is very very akin to the book, which is always a good thing when you are remaking something as powerful as H.P. Lovecraft. I was scared shitless when Ive been playing this.

When i finally got thru this the first time i fell down thru the roof and broke my legs (in the game) and just lay there (in real life) in the floor all sweaty and panting i couldnt believe it.

I bought this game not too long after release. While it had a lot of issues (bugs, some really uninteresting areas, etc.) it also had quite a few memorable moments. This was one of the best of them, and it had my pulse racing as much as the character's.

It's a shame that you can't find games that will try for this sort of experience anymore.

I totally agree! It's an excelent game, one of the best ever! It has evrth! Very scary, plus evrth what u describe! Not to mention the sanity system, the plot, the role moments & the action moments. Graphics, sounds, evrth!!! They should make more games like this. Pity that the company vanished.

Yes, the developers had big debts & broke.

They were releasing 2 sequels to this game but had to cancel them (u can find some previews/info in youtube & wikipedia).

That's also why no patches were broadcasted (to cope with the video & other kind of troubleshootings many of us have).

But well, they made a great work!

It's a game based upon the stories of an old horror book author, "H.P. Lovecraft." He's often attributed to being the best American horror writer.

Cthulhu is one of his made-up hellish demons that twists peoples' minds into completely different persons.

I like this game, especially the fact that Jack can kill himself when his insanity level drops too low. The ambient is pretty good too. The main menu music is just, according to me, Cthulhu style.

This was one of the scariest and coolest singleplayer videogame experiences I have ever had. This scene is right out of Shaodow over Innsmouth, but with guns. I played this game right after Condenmed and I thought it was better and just as scary.

it's because our scary dedective Jack Walters sometimes feels kind of dizzy when for example walking on a high place. Or sometimes he gets too excited when he sees multiple enemies. You can hear his heart beating very fast.

I just beat this game today, and man was it good! Tough as fuck sometimes, but very good. It's still available ,but it still costs about as much as a new game (on amazon anyway). Before I played this, I had no clue who H.P. Lovecraft was. I got a book with a bunch of stories in it and it's incredible stuff! classic horror at its best, like they say. playing the game and reading the stories makes both an unforgettable experience.

Lol, when I first played this part I forgot to lock one of the doors and when I remembered and went back the innsmouth citizen was already there. I was screaming my head off. I made my friend play this game too, she was also startled. I haven't beaten the game yet. I'm on the part where there is like a dock thing at the fishing cannery and there is like fish innsmouth's trying to kill you with guns...

Ur life must be 100% in order for u to make a successful jump. The thing is...u cant determine if ur life is 100%! gaarrgghh!!

You can. If you don't have any injuries, it's 100%.

The only thing you need for that jump is a lack of broken leg bones.
