I love the double dvd "Live at Montreux" 1974 and 1980. I recommend this to anyone ,it's basically fantastic and remastered beautifully. It's interesting to see the contrast between 74 and 80, I play it all the time.Personally I think it's the best DVD video music I ever seen !

No, I saw Van's live concert DVD's from '74 and '80 and was unimpressed except for "Tupelo Honey," and one other song. He obviously does NOT enjoy singing for the audience, makes no eye contact, and looks forward to the end of his set. Now compare that to Springsteen or the Stones. C'mon!

Love his music but imagine how much more of the world would be exposed to his music if he allowed it to be aired? I remember of a man that gave a company a free service, that company did not buy anything from him but they turned another company on to him and his services and the first order that he received from this other company was about 3,000 times more then what the best selling company with his same service did in business during an entire year and he did this by simply giving it away.

No, if you download the cd into your computer, Itunes says you can burn unlimited cds for your own use. Really, who doesn't know that.? As for the comparison to $3000 TV i'm saying you don't get to have a "replacement media" there but you do with a cd only costing $10 or $15. If you don't have sense to burn a copy that's nobodys fault but yours.
Surprised that if you've bought so much of his music you don't know that he owns the record co. Exile. and is asking for his own rights to distribute his music or videos, I don't think Van Morrison would fight for the rights of the music co per se. Why didn't you save your music cds in a music application like Itunes (it,s free) or burn a copy or two??
Never had an account but I used to watch Vans videos and enjoyed them. Just have to say that even though I miss getting to see them, I have to admire Van Morrison for being one of the only musicians besides Prince who would actually have taken a stand like this. Van is one of the most amazing musicians of our time. But! He was always complaining about record companies rippng him off etc. Like he hated the fact that they controlled everything. And it seems ironic that is exactly what he has turned in to_ a controlling, money hungry dickhead. Ps Still love the music

if i see another bloody van greatest hits album ill implode. most of the songs on these best ofs are poor and overplayed. his best songs are carrying a torch, cry for home, daring night --miles better than the radio friendly shite he pumps out - those songs are real music

damn right. of course Moondance and Have I Told You Lately are wonderful, but the best songs are hidden on not so commercial albums. I personally love Pagan Streams, Fire In The Belly and Professional Jealousy.

The problem is.. Years ago Van would of been applauded to standing up to companys like Youtube and other company's. As leehk23 says making copies is illegal. Why should Van allow any of his music on Youtube. Does he get any money for it no.. People turn round and run him down. Because he claims copywrite. But if you were in his position would you not do the same. Yeah ok i dont like it but you need to look at his point of view also.. If you want his music go buy it. As he says... Keep It Simple

Reply to leehk23, who expects lifetime access to music with no effort on his part-If you buy a $3000 TV, it comes 1 yr warranty with no way to copy a spare, yet you expect to spend $10-15 on a CD where you could make copy, but if not, the record co should furnish replacement for your lifetime or "they're fat and lazy". There may be some good arguments for youtube music but that's not one.
Think about it-you don't make sense.

No, if you download the cd into your computer, Itunes says you can burn unlimited cds for your own use. Really, who doesn't know that.? As for the comparison to $3000 TV i'm saying you don't get to have a "replacement media" there but you do with a cd only costing $10 or $15. If you don't have sense to burn a copy that's nobodys fault but yours.

Their arguments revolve around copyright and royalties.
I paid for those the first time I bought the vinyl. That wore out, then I paid their royalties again with the CD.
Now that jumps and skips and is not worth listening to.
Do they offer a replacement media? ... Yeah, right...
Music companies have been fat and lazy for long enough.
If Van wishes to side with them, so be it.
I've paid my dues more than once and I ain't paying again...

Surprised that if you've bought so much of his music you don't know that he owns the record co. Exile. and is asking for his own rights to distribute his music or videos, I don't think Van Morrison would fight for the rights of the music co per se. Why didn't you save your music cds in a music application like Itunes (it,s free) or burn a copy or two??

Never had an account but I used to watch Vans videos and enjoyed them. Just have to say that even though I miss getting to see them, I have to admire Van Morrison for being one of the only musicians besides Prince who would actually have taken a stand like this. Whether we like it or not, he's always been his own man since he got his freedom from the Big Time Operators in the 70s.

Van gets a lot of abuse for taking his videos off. Guess that shows how great he is. Who would care if he wasn't so good! I didn't realize til now how many singers have covered his songs. Can't think of a single one that lives up to the original.
And by the way what kind of lowlife has nothing to do but call a famous person names? no life fools that;s who.

Watching George Ivan here on YouTube always made me want to get out there and buy his very next release just as soon as I could. Now that the slate has been wiped clean of him I think I'll just play what I already have. RIP Van. Sorry to hear of your passing as it were.

I have been able to get Brown Eyed Girl and a few of the others up until last week. I have tried everything to get them back. I wish that these songs would be put back. Love listening to Van Morrison.

Same here. Van Morrison/EXILE pulled a video of our first married dance at our wedding reception to Moondance (it wasn't even him - it was Buble's version). Technically, I supposed it was a reproduction of the DJ's copy, but does not diminish the apparent fact that Van Morrison is an asshole.

Why have you blocked all the Van videos? It's not as if we hadn't bought all the albums anyway, so you're hardly losing any money. And we go to see him live, so that isn't a problem either. We won't be buying the remastered CDs now, which we would have done if you hadn't have removed the videos.
