Why cant europeans put real manuals in their sports cars? I mean really, thats what Amerian sports cars have, manuals. Take for instence the Corvette zr1/z06, Dodge Viper, Chevy Camaro ss, Ford Mustang GT, Ford GT, ect. And why the hell do they sound like Honda civic 1.7s at high rpms?

the noise that comes outta a muscle v8 is like that because of the type of camshafts muscle car manufacturers choose to use (90 degrees). Italian and other euro v8's(180 degrees cams) sound different partly because they rev to higher rpm's, chage rpm more quickly. a more efficient crank setup allows for this, and also no flat crank = no "throb". also has to do with the timing setup of when cylinder fires! (sorry for my bad english and spelling!) peace!
