  • where did you come up with the morgan manner? wow wow!!!!! thanks!

  • I was lucky enough to see and dance to Russ Morgan back in 1954 when I was a young 2nd Lt. in the Air Force at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS I loved his music then and still do. Many tnx for revving up some great old memories

  • 当時のダンスホールの雰囲気がよくでている動画だとおもいます。

  • I never saw Russ Morgan, but have seen and heard his son Jack hundreds of times. Saw him at the top of the Dunes in 1977 and at the Plaza in Vegas in 1994. The band hs been to my parent's house many of times.

  • What CLASS!!!I loved ALL his music from first I heard it especially all of his nostalgic 1890 through 1910 songs which he turned to GOLD from 1943 through 1950.Oh for those simple and uncomplicated times which will never return!!!Morgan,Kyser,Kaye,Blue Barron,Wayne King, etc all exemplified the truly wonderful times that they must have been!!!!!

  • Seen his son's orchestra manyyyyy times. First saw at the Dunes. Had band to my house many times too.

  • His theme song. I have a collection of over 1,500 dance band themes.

  • Russ Morgan was great!!! Thank you for posting this!!!!

  • How great to see and hear Russ Morgan and his orchestra! Thanks.

  • Hi, Iris... Thanks for your kind words. This was a kick to see and we're still excited about the find. We now have a DVD of this piece, which includes more Russ Morgan from other years (without Dad), and other bands as well. It's called "Meet the Band Leaders." Better quality, as you would imagine, but can't beat the convenience of this piece on YouTube. Regards, Scott Fisher

  • Thank you for posting this! The clarinet player in "Wabash Blues" (in front of the bass drum) is Willie Fisher, who was my father. He was 22 in '36. He played and arranged for Russ Morgan from about '36-'38. In 1935, he arranged Ozzie Nelson's "About A Quarter To Nine" into a #3 hit. Most of his career was with Ray Bloch at CBS arranging Ed Sullivan & Jackie Gleason. He also arranged the '71 and '72 Tonys for Elliot Lawrence. My brother and I never saw him play. This is a real thrill!

  • Dear Pastimeguy,

How fortunate for you and your brother to have these wonderful memories of your dad, Willie Fisher. He looked like a great person.

I was born in 1945 and love this music which my folks used to play all the time so my husband, Brian, and I are playing this music for our young grandchildren.

    Always,

    Iris AKA Feisty Mom

  • I wonder if (coinciding with Peanuts animator Bill Melendez's death) if that Waa Waa trademakr of Russ's is wehere the late Vince Guardarli got his idea for his trombone tlask gimmick for Charlie Brown's teacher (since adults and teenagers, we know, are not allowed to appear or even speak in the wortld of Peanuts), used even though Vince was a Dave Brubekc type West coast cool jazz legend.

  • Sweet, pleasant stuff. Attractive performers. No gangsta attitude, no dirty language. Oh those golden days, long gone as they are.

  • im 19 and im fond of the 30s,40,s ext:but music has to progresss further. Listen to dandi wind, for me its music that makes me think. or pink foyd

  • Thank you. Very good quality. If you have a vocal version of this or other Dave Ringle Compositions please post.

  • Wonderful!
