She does need to be loved and given structure, not allowed to become the 'bad daughter'. And mum does love her. Once they remember this, and learn that they can actually show each other love and have a better time they do!

I love how you can see how much the mother wants to fix things with her children! Whenever the kids are talking in the personal messages, they sound like they wrote it, then memorized it, word--to-word. They probably did, but it doesn't really sound that good when that happens.
I wonder does this really help or do they go right back to their old ways when Jo leaves. It seems like Jo really pushes them to do activities that they would probably never do if she were not there. I can only see Hailey getting worse as she reaches her teen years. They need to nip it in the bud NOW if they haven't already. And If Hailey behaves I'm sure Camryn and Matthew would as well.
I think it is significant that these kids are not used to hugging. I hug my kids A LOT and tell them how beautiful and valuable they are to me and how much I love them. It does them good, and it does me a lot of good. Please hug your kids and tell them how much you love them and what a gift of God they are for you!!!

american parents are too soft on their children , there is no discipline involved and the kids know they can call the cops if they get spanked and thats how you get little spoiled brats , im not sugesting to beat your kids unconscious but they need sometimes a semi ass whooping , remember , they look up to you so dont overuse your authority

@Lookdownhereiam The boy wasn't really being disruly, unless it was picked up from the girls. The rivalry between the girls seemed to be the bigger problem and the solution was neutralizing that. =D But it looks like they improved on this.
I thought it was great that the mother truly told her daughter what was making her cry. I think if she had been so vocal about things in the beginning, their relationship would have already been great.
The boy is just an intelligent well behaved boy over-shadowed by his spoiled sisters crying for attention and dicipline and feeling bad for Jo, mom, and sisters neglecting him. That's where his low self esteem issues start.
usually when kids start to ask for time outs it's a strong message that they just want some privacy and that is the only way for young children to get this across. matthew is so cute!
Jo mentioned early that they had a lack of respect for their things, most likely to their spoilt (to use the British term) attitude; that's why she took them to the homeless shelter, to show them how fortunate they are compared to others.
