I wish this trailer had a little more original ideas to it. I have not read Fallout Equestria but I have played fallout 3, and I can tell that this trailer is just the opening of fallout 3 with ponies. I'd like to think of Fallout Equestria as it's own chapter in the Fallout series, not just Fallout 3 with ponies. Not sure if the fanfic has the same problem, I have not read it.

@sonotentei The monologue comes straight out of the introduction to Fallout: Equestria. It's the preface - two paragraphs to set the stage before the actual storytelling begins. It's the least important part of the tale.

In text form, the derivation works rather well, using those parallels to bring the reader into the right mindset. In full-blown trailer form - I agree - it's more noticeable and less effective. Still, it was something I wanted to see realized.

@coolcatjas Used to think exactly like you too, but then I took an arro- No really though Fo:E actually opened my eyes to fan fiction. The writing style, ambiance and just plain emotional involvement is terrific and should never be passed up. There's some good writers out there, better then a lot of published authors. Don't let the "Fan Fiction" label deter you.

@coolcatjas It's alright. It tries really hard to be a tearjerker, and in some respects it does a great job, but it's very predictable, not too innovative, plays on an appeal to emotion, and most certainly isn't the literary masterpiece everyone makes it out to be.
