@robdaskater44 yeah...wrong...but come back and take a second look (without that board) and see if there isn't something here that somehow still grabs you.
This is "throwback stuff" probably to someone from the skateboard era, true.
But there might still be something here you would be interested in, despite all that.
The MUSIC for instance. :D This is fantastic stuff, whether you are "boarding," skating, or just grasping at straws, IMO.
@Mulsanne917flatout Followup to my own previous post, of course, but I can't find any other option...so: Vince Guaradli's "Christmastime is Here" from that same, fantastic "Charlie Brown Christmas Album" will have to suffice (no it won't just "suffice"--it's the pure ticket, IMO).
Give me this magnificent instrumental every year, leading up to this holiday (regardless of stress)...and find mine a very contented soul.
I didn't have any opportunity this year to listen to this CD until very late on Christmas Eve (or maybe it was early Xmas morning). But when I finally did, it was just as good as it ever was, and it brought those tears to my eyes, too, as it always does.
Frankly, I'm almost grateful for it when it happens, because it helps confirm to me that I really am still alive--otherwise I'd sometimes wonder. It's all too easy to just plod along, unfeeling, from one day to the next.
@homestar2112 Nah, no worries (can't even remember now what I said). If I was being picky about something, then please do let ME apologize myself.
This is a great thread, and I've loved this video for years now. God forbid I should end up doing something to ruin the ambience of "general happiness" around here....
This is something VERY worthwhile for which one might learn to play. Do this, and I think you will forever pat yourself on the back for your accomplishment (and as it should be, too!).
Vince...was the among the handful of the very best.
the name fits the tune, love vince guaraldi. . but if not for the charlie brown specials, neither me nor my kids might never have ever run across such a special thing, vince or peanuts....
I'm surprised at how many people know these tunes from Charlie Brown but don't know the name of the guy that wrote them. It's a shame really because if you ask me, he has to be one of the greatest composers/players of the 20th century with a balance of simple, catchy melodies and complex, melodic improvisation. Sure other musicians have their arrangements of his tunes, but in my opinion, they don't hold up to the timeless sound of the originals. RIP Vince Guaraldi.
Cool. Looks similar to what I remember downtown Cleveland, Ohio, looking like. I think they had a little ice skating area outside, during the winters in the 1980s.
Wow. Very nice. Here is a dumb question. Was Vince Guaraldi's music used for the soundtrack and scenes from Mister Rogers's Neighborhood (also produced in Pittsburgh) ? I know...really crazy but as I recall they did short vignettes like this accompanied by piano music.
Johnny Costa wrote the Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood music. The footage was shot @ the PPG rink that is set up every winter in "Dahntahn" Pittsburgh. Guaraldi spent most of his life on the west coast. posted by a "yinzer"
Really cool video......it sure put a smile on my face......a video of people having fun backed by a real snappy classic jazz tune that really fits the bill...I give it two thumbs up!!!!
Y'know, I started listening to this song today and I said to myself "you know what'd be great? I video of people skating to the song Skating! How great would that be?"
So, thanks, for making my christmas dream come true (not really, but you get my point hah!)
Followup to previous post: This video was taken down (or removed) a while back, which is part of what caused me to close my own YouTube account (call it "a contributing factor"--there were others too).

I really like the soft focus and the camera work. It fits the song perfectly. Motion and the dream like pixelated images. Great work. I have never seen any other videos use this effect. The music is one of my favorites. You did a great job!
I agree. I'm not generally a fan of the "handheld video camera" technique--it's so often overused in movies and commercials both--but I think it's just PERFECT here.
Skating is very much a personal experience (no one can feel the ice underneath your blades but you), and this video captures that simple truth.

I can only say I hope they won't.
For my part, I buy up CD copies of "The Charlie Brown Christmas Album" and give them to those I think might appreciate this music.
I do the same with other UMG music too--Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66, for example.
To UMG: If you kill off vids and commentary...and enthusiasm...you will also kill off your customer base, both short and long term.
PLease allow me to pass it on.
