  • Hmm, I just tested my battery and I'm getting about 14.98 volts when idling - do you think this could be a bad battery or rectifier?

  • @AnalogueJosh No, you're fine. The poster here was wrong when he says it should be "at least 12v." It should be 13.4-14.5ish volts. Your number is fine.

    A fully charged battery is 12.6ish volts. Anything under that will be draining the battery. A battery doesn't effectively charge unless you have at least 13.5v or so to it. Anything between 12.6 and 13.4 will more or less act like a maintainer more than it will a charger.
