Sometimes I listen to this while getting ready for going out on a saturday night. This song makes me feel very glamourous. But the saturday nights never delivers what this song promises...
@emerpus01 As strelkuz says this tune was earlier than the Cuban missile crisis. It seems to have it's roots in older Russian folk songs so might be much earlier.
This is sheer class. The high end of trad, if you can call it that, its more like pop jazz. No doubt about it Ken and his band were brilliant. Its a shame that a lot of people today have never heard this.
Great, great, great. Every part of the band had some fun in making this a great hit. Rating? How many stars are available? Give them all the stars.

A song written and created within the Soviet system hits #2 the same year as the Cuban missile crisis. Huh.

Yeah you right! I remember this one along with one called Wooden Heart. I want to say the artist was billed
as the Elvis of Sweden or something like that. Great Songs from a Simpler Time!

@strelkuz I agree, Kenny Ball and his jazzmen are fantastic

Of course it's Kenny Ball with his straight trumpet and chorus. Glad to have heard it again.
