  • Clerks 2 anyone?

  • 2:13 Years ago..I was an angry young man..and I'd pretend ...that I was a billboard..standing tall..by the side of the road..and I fell in love with a beautiful highway..this used to be real estate now it's only fields and trees..!

BRILLIANT stuff..LIBERAL Tree huggers ruin everthing in the end..!

  • Singin against the LIBERALS...and their "save the world ecology" BS..!! I can't get used to this LIFESTYLE..!!

  • CLERKS 2 !

  • LMao fuck you fucciign suptid hippies lmao

  • the beginning reminds me a bit of you can call me al

  • Reminds me of a drive I took with someone special a long time ago it seems, coming back from Bristol together...speaking of Johnny Marr.

  • One of our bands inspirations

  • Johnny Marr on the 12-string Rickenbacker... just beautiful. This is one of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

  • :)

  • Where will I park my Gremlin?

  • as things fell apart no one payed much attention ... if this is paradise i wish i had a lawn mower.... very anti green government agenda and where he was living this was going on a lot longer than it has been in america

  • Bastards, they took the parking lots away? Now I can't park!

  • Johnny Marr... yes indeedy!

  • Cheaaa

  • LOL....what a great song..i forgot all about it....when this came out i used to listen to it over and over it was so cool....great sarcasm....thanks for posting

  • hear this song everyday at work and i play the opening scene of clerks 2 in my head oh sweet irony!!!!

  • @agenstuall85 Old Navy?

  • @melancholymarie coffee bean :)

  • na pełnej urwie

  • I spy a chimp, son!

  • Hilarious.

  • sucha catchy tune

  • It took me the longest time to figure out what sort of influences contributed to the sound of this song. Turns out it would seem to draw from the Soukous genre.

  • @maikerugo Soukous? I take it that's some form of african genre, I get that sort of feeling from it.

  • FRESHMAN YEAR IN COLLEGE. EVERYONE HATED ME FOR LOVIN THIS ALBUM

  • @TheClintonkid

What asses. Unless you just went to college recently then I understand why they would hate.

  • @TheClintonkid What? They hated you for loving music? Sounds like you go to a community college in the ghetto.

  • How would Pop 'music' and Justin Bieber compare to this? NEC--Not Even Close.

  • you got it you got it

  • its sooo good

  • Johnny Marr <3

  • He's right, you know.

  • Clerks II, best movie ever.

  • @iDoItForPittsburgh Clerks brought me here

  • No video? Just a picture still. Would have been nice to know that before NOT clicking. I wanted to SEE something more than a chimp.

  • @Zooomabooma It's a great song. Close your eyes and dig the music. If you absolutely need video, maybe music isn't really your thing.

  • @Hammeroftruth well said sir, well said

  • @Hammeroftruth I've already got the music. I came to this video site for the video.

  • perfect

  • Too bad their later work got more commercial attention...

  • @aabust This song is actually from their final album!

  • amazing tune timeless!!

  • I always took this as tounge in cheek... never even occured to me that it could be written in all seriousness... hm.

  • awesome... listening to this song makes me happy

  • Nothing but... cheerfulness :)

  • Sweet, sweet education.

    Nice call, defrus.

  • this life is a pizza hut

  • Best Talking Heads song anyway.

  • First heard it in Clerks II : D great song i ish love it

  • Johnny Marr plays on this track, I think.

  • i heard this for the first time today while laying down fake wood floors.. i had to stop to find the lyrics, unsure of what i was hearing! now i'm laughing my butt off at the words instead of working :D ha!

  • I like this song for being realistic, and for essentially being an '80s mentality opposite of Big Yellow Taxi.

I also like when inanimate objects fall in love.

  • Thumbs up if you would burn down your mall for a clear water oasis...

  • 5 Star

  • Clerks 2.......every morning when I cook myself breakfast and have coffee this song pops in my head. And yes thanks to Kevin Smith for that.

  • Love it all :)

  • I dream of cherry pies.

  • Houses in Motion is wayyy better than psycho killer and burning down the house. That is just my opinion. So no need to call anyone fucking dumb.

  • and this definitely not the best th song . your fucking dumb naive melody, burning down the house, and psycho killer are better than this

  • no every new act should emulate and try to make good creative music like the talking heads not fuck that cover shit that is lazy music. covering is only good is if you improve upon the song

  • David Byrne has a magical way of demonstrating humanities' flaws. Every new act should cover something by the talking heads.

  • johnny marr tears it up

  • Talking Heads, head to toe, through and through, fly me to the moon.

  • Thank you Kevin smith for clerks 2 and introducing me to some good music

  • Best anti-depressant EVER!

  • lol. Clerks 2...

  • kick ass song love the African soukous mix the song has especially the African guitars at the end of the songs . there is a musical style in Colombia just like this called champeta . you can find tons of it on youtube .

  • Comment removed

  • Guitar played by Johnny Marr, at that time guitarist in The Smiths

  • One of my all time favorite songs!

  • If my life becomes a movie, I want this song to be playing as I walk off into the distance and the credits start rolling.

  • @jamesz5000 cool i have the same idea i imagine that my life is a movie directed by Michael Bay hahaha

  • @tcatn0c Meh... Not Michael Bay... I'd want a director with talent, not money.

  • love the guittar on this song. it has a groovy african pop influence.

  • I loved this song at the beginning of Clerks 2, which, is the movie that introduced it to me. Thanks Kevin Smith. I love looking to the past for new music to listen to rather than the present or the future where music sucks.

  • @mrbrockpeters try battles, black moth super rainbow, boards of canada, ratatat, aphex twin...if you need some good modern music

  • This is my favorite Talking Heads album. After all the hype is gone, many moons later, I think the jig is up. They were better without Eno.

  • This really is one of the best songs ever.

  • You could play this at the end of just about any movie, and it'd fit fine.

  • Man this song i fucking great!

  • hate this song -.- wrote my english exam 'bout it.

  • EDUCATION!!!

  • Category is "Education" You, my friend, definitely got it right.

  • tune.

  • Wish I had a lawnmower.

    Thankyou

  • Don't leave me stranded here!

  • Where? Where have they gone? Now, it's nothing but flowers!

I want to live in a field of flowers.

  • Great song Byrne's sense of humor was and still is out there

  • Awesome - great quality!

  • Best song ever.

Don't bother disagreeing 'cause yer wrong.

  • @Pizzaman45157 I disagree, and I'm going to write a lengthy paragraph telling you why...actually, nevermind.

  • @Pizzaman45157 So true. If only music like this would air on local radio stations. I come here to youtube to drown out the Taylor Swift that is forced on me. lol

  • @Torikan too bad I can't vote you to the top! Thanks to 2010 though, we can listen to whatever we want via mobile device :D
