People always say Pigeons are stupid disgusting retarted animals. I own a pigeon, saved her and her brother after the parents just left. And one died. she's a really smart and fun partner. Very loving and understanding, and not to mention very cute.
@Cfoster1999 Sometimes shops have them. If they sell birds I think there's a good chance they sell pigeons. We got one or two of ours from my dads work. The babies sometimes fall out of the nests and he'll bring them home and we keep them. We've bought one or two pigeons from a shop and we just got a pair of rollers from a breeder. Mom's real proud of them. They're havin babies now.
@NAPREDATOR Bird see differently than other animals. Their eyes don't focus like ours do, so they have to readjust their heads to look at stuff, and when whatever they're looking at moves they bob their heads to refocus.
We had a temporary pet pigeon once. It fell down the chimney, and when we got it out it flew straight into a wall. We ended up keeping it until it was well enough to fly again. It was kind-of fat and it only had one eye...but still cute :D
I miss my pet pigeon. He is staying with a friend right now :( I miss him so much...he was my best friend. We would do everything together...he loved action movies! I saved him off the streets when he was a couple months old, and he would sleep on my pillow with me. Calino...I miss you, and cant wait to be with u again buddy! :( I love u Calino!!!
Hi. i've been thinking about what kind of pet i want for a while. i was thinking how i'd love a bird, but one that i could let out...then came the idea of a homing pigeon. they are so naturally tame too! eve the ones on the street. can i ask you a few qs, if you don't mind. what i'm saying in this clip is what i want. do you leave them outside FREE 24by7? i'm thinking of having a little outdoor small cote, but only 1 or 2 pigeons max. (they would otherwise poo everywhere). would
@jole523 i rescue pigeons and doves i deffinately suggest you get one but make sure its very young or it wont imprint on you. this way is best for you but a horrible experience for the parents if it is taken away, i suggest adopting a king pigeon they are big and very domestic, they cant fly too good and shouldnt fly free outside but you can buy them diapers online and a leash and take them on walks and let them play in your house! if you want do buy a baby pigeon youll have to hand feed it
@zhertec Yeah, we have somehow collected more and some of them have had babies and now we're up to 15 pigeons. I find it fascinating watching the babies and seeing what similarities they get from the father or mother.
@fuckyousonsofbitches we're really not sure. We think he ate something bad, like something with bug poison on it. We just found him lying in his cage. No warning, just... dead.

I have an interesting situation...the last few days this pigeon has picked us and our garage as his play as of choice and for the first time tonight I have discovered he has some bands on his legs! I dont know anything about it and it is tame but yet wont let us go up to him so afraid to touch him but doing my best to take care of him...will call the game and fish ward tomorrow and get him back to his owner...it is so cute but we have 7 indoor kitty kats not a good mix!
@Codeman10140 Yeah, that pigeon was a total momma's boy. Unfortunately he died not too long ago, but we've gathered quite a collection of pigeons now. We even have a pair that have mated and now we have 2 little babies in their nest. They are adorable in that completely awkward ugly birdy way. :)
@vimann Not nessesarily. After all, pigeons have been know to be able to undertake tasks which were preciously thought could only be done by humans and primates; many of these takes, even parrots cannot achieve. Pigeons are actually remarkably intelligent. Parrots are intelligent too but who's to say more so than pigeons if not less, in many aspects.
@tubetoiletv2000 Yeah, I'm gonna have to side that pigeons aren't that smart. They can learn some tricks and they are very affectionate and all that, but they aren't very smart birds in any special sort of way. I've seen videos of ravens and some other birds who can solve puzzles and things, but I dont see pigeons ever figuring out how to ride a mini skate board or solve different puzzles to get at food. They're smart. Just not especially intelligent...
@PixStixRockCandy your right thare not smart but verry luvable one hit my window and i nursed it back to health and kept him for about 3 months then let him go and once in a while he comes back and i feed him but not that often i think he passed on couse i havent seen him in about a month but i hope hes still out thare good luck chicken.....yes i named him chicken...

Few people know what wonderful pets pigeons make. They are smarter than almost any animal anywhere close to their size.
