If you get the non USB version then you will require a preamp to supply phantom power to the microphone. 48v is required so any audio interface with this feature will work. Behringer do a USB powered audio cable which should provide the required power to any standard condenser microphone.
@RinaShulemaja The CO1 has an XLR connector and needs 48V phantom power. I've never used one, but I imagine that you would need some kind of interface to connect it to your computer. Sorry if I could not be of more help.
good quality crisp recording, i think this is the one i will buy, most other test video are naff, thats for sharing true perception of this what this mic can do. cheer bud
@rcminit109 If you are using the mic for singing, I would recommend that you get the pop filter or that filter thingy in the front of it. If you are using it for like podcasting or anything like that, there is no need for it.
Cheers for the tip abt the pre-amp driver. Just bought one, waiting til 5pm to get it home and try it out (it's a five o'clock world, all right...) so I'll give it a go without and see what happens.
I installed Softpre and it really messed up my audio so bad that any time I used the mic to record I was getting chopyness and Popping sounds, I only installed it because the Volume was so low is there any programs you would suggest to amp up the sound that will not mess up the drivers and make it chopy when recording? I really hope you can help
Let me ask you something. I'm interested in this microphone, but I can only use a WMA format for audio files. Does the microphone record audio in that format if you let the drivers find the device?
hello sir where can i download the samson softpre software the one in the samson site is already gone please, help me i really need this softpre =) thanks sir
i have a problem sir , i cant hear my self in the speakers when i use my c01u , just like what your doing , without any programs like sonar =) thanks sir =) i want to use my samson just like what you are doing sir , help please , thanks sir =)
@MarOneMercene Most audio recording programs don't allow playback through the speakers at the same time to prevent feedback. Your program may allow playback while recording through headphones.
@irishhermit You probably need to use the soft-pre software because i don't know if you noticed but you're recording predominately plays back in the left channel. I have this mic and know that when you plug in play there is a problem, the microphones setting is stereo 2ch-16 bit which produces the uneven playback. The setting should be 2ch-24 bit to play back in both speakers equally. An easy fix for an older model pc is to use the soft-pre software. For a mac change the settings to 1ch-16 bit.
actually, the sound is stereo, the microphone is mono, the software is set on stereo to record on one 'side' (left according to what I hear). If it was 'mono' the same sound would be coming out of both 'sides' but be exactly the same. Changing most software to record a mono signal on both 'tracks' (left being one track, right being the other) is usually in the audio settings (given the software you're using). check your 'manual' or help file to see how to make a mono input into L/R output
how do you change the settings from mono to stereo on windows?
and i heard that the recording sounds quite soft when you record it that's why you need to install softpre. so if you dont install it, will it be very soft?
Thanks for the question. I found that the audio levels are quite find without the softpre program. I use Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Audtion and have no problems with the audio levels. Hope this helps.
Hello, I wanted to ask you something, now when I record it sounds nice, but at random times I hear static. It could be the last vocal I do that sound all static.. I even turn down the capture on the mic. Please help.
Hi. What program are you using to record your audio? Have you tried more than one recording program? If you get static on more that one program you may have a bad connection on your usb port. Try using another usb port.
The only time I've had trouble with the audio quality is when I record with the software that came with my Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. After about twenty seconds of recording I get static. Other programs, such as Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Audition, have no problem.
Sony Acid Pro 7, and its only when I get a little loud. Or sometimes when im speaking low, Anyways I will change the usb port and see. Thank you very much! Your the MAN!!
I think you need to set your settings to STEREO instead of MONO. The problem is that the audio is only being played through the left channel. If you set it to Stereo, then the audio would be played through both the left and right channels.
THE TITLE SAYS Samscon. Thought you should know.

If you make a lot "ploives", that is, popping sounds when you pronounce the letter "b", "d", then you should get one.
