I knew catalan was similar to spanish but not this similar, its like sometimes I understand what they are saying and sometimes is like they are talking in chinese.

Dang, the Spanish dialogue is spoken so much faster than in the soap operas of Mexico. It's hard for me to keep up! Thank goodness for subs. lol

I have watched Ollian, DeRo, Nuke, Christian & Syed (among others), and don't think one is better than the other. Each storyline is special in their own way and I enjoy watching them all.

It's normal you don't understand anything latintube71, doesn't matter if you are castilian, russian or montenegrin, catalan is a TOTALLY diferent lenguage!! The fact that the catalan is speaked inside the spanish state doesn't mean that a spanish will understand better the language than other romance speaker, like an italian for example.

If you wanna talk not seriously about this issue, I can asure you that a french or (overall) an occitan can understand MUCH better catalan than an spanish, an italian or a rumenian, because all three have a gallic origin (french, catalan and occitan languages ara "Gallo-romance" languages) and not an iberian origin (like portuguese or spanish). No problem people but just get a little bit more information before talking and respect the others nations ;)
