Nigdzie nie napisałem, że nienawidzimy Litwinów, ;) Co da prania mózgów to zdaje się masz racje, problem jest taki, że odrodzenie litewskie oparte zostało też i na antypolonizmie, potem te 20 lat, a czasy ZSRR były swoistą "zamrażarką" w naszych relacjach i dlatego teraz jesteśmy o wiele bardziej do tyłu niż w stosunkach z Niemcami na przykład. To znaczy Litwini są do tyłu, oni u nas mają co chcą.

Ostatnio zainteresowałem się Litwą i czytuję internetowe wydania Kuriera Wileńskiego.

Ja osobiście uważam, że bardziej polski jest Lwów niż Wilno. Wilno traktuję jak taki wspólny symbol dawnej potęgi. Wracając do II RP czy jak by Wilno zostało po litewskiej stronie problemy by zniknęły, dopiero by się zaczęły walki i napięcia bo mieszkająca tam większość polska dążyłaby do oderwania..

Yes, people can learn russian in our schools but that's optional.

Other people speak russian becouse they are from Russia, lived in Russia or as my older members of family lived when Lithuania was occupyed by SSSR and it was forbiten to speak lithuanian.

@Tykilover It is especially confusing when you realise the languages have different root tongues - Russian is Slavic language (like Polish or Ukrainian), whereas Lithuanian is Baltic. Completely different, to say so is like comparing German to French!

Japanese and Chinese are unrelated and are pretty much opposites of each other in terms of phonetics, syntax (SOV vs SVO) and morphology (agglutinative vs isolating), whereas Russian and Lithuanian have common ancestry in both Proto-Indo-European and Proto-Balto-Slavic and are fairly similar to each other in the three aforementioned aspects (they are both SVO and fusional). I think Hindi/Persian or Cantonese/Taiwanese would be better analogies.

@vonPeterhof It was a joke of some sort, me being a person who abhors the confusion of Japanese and Chinese, and all your facts are true of course, but despite Japanese and Chinese's differences there are a few similarities (Hanzi-Kanji script and the On-Yomi and Kun-Yomi). So yes, Cantonese and the Taiwanese Mandarin dialect would've been a better example, but you must understand that my whole world is focused on Japan and the People's Republic of China :)
