  • hey brah, not to be an asshole, but ur kind of cheating a lot... check ur delts, neck, legs and the "impulse" you use, to get momentum... if you were to get down to a better form, and hit just the bis, you would need a lot less weight.

  • @ioleary Why the fuck are you doing curls in the first place? Its the most bullshit exercise in all of frequently performed weight training exercises.

  • If you are a personal trainer I certainly wouldn't recommend you to anybody if you can't spot elbows too far forward, leaning back, and lowering the bar too quickly, especially the last 3 reps.

    I wasn't putting him down either, just picking the faults in form, I have been training for years and at my local gym criticism has helped people because they can put it right. You have made yourself look stupid not recognising this and I would doubt you are a PT anyway.

  • @perfectjohnboy at what point did I say I didn't recognise it I said you need to get a grip and stop using youtube as a way and means to vent your frustration on how shit things must be going for you. also as far as me picking faults with form i just looked through my posts and none of them are doing that the only one that does anything of that nature is one in reply to another user not the uploader who decided to pick faults with the upload

  • Poor form, you should be lowering the weight slower on the way down. The lowering is so much more important than the raising. A little cheating on the way up does not matter if you lower it slow.

This form might not be perfect but in comparison to most people on youtube its pretty good lol

  • @Retlaw1995 Yes it is, don't go above 10 reps if you are trying to gain muscle, add a bit of weight each side, even if it's only small amounts and keep the form and it should drop you to about 6 reps, cheat a bit on the last couple to get it up as long as you are so strict on the way down.

  • This is not the proper form for biceps curls at all, however the bar should not touch you legs at anytime because that gives your muscles the opportunity to rest. Furthermore you need to hold your hands about 2 inches from your waist (keep your arms on a slight angle) and than curls. you'll find your self not able to curl half of the weight you're curling right now. Peace

  • Sick.. Half the size of u man but can do few of these.. Mmmm 4-6 fresh ;).. Just takes time to pack on muscle supose, no such thing as over night results :(... 1 year gym

  • Keep in mind this is from three years ago when I was also training for competitive collegiate track and field.  So I was putting in a lot of cardio on a daily basis.

  • I'm 17. I just did 1 bar curl rep for 90lbs. Is that good for just starting out lifting? I can do around 10 reps for 80lbs bar curl. Do you have any tips?
