so I'm a few months late in commenting on this, but the sound can also be blamed on the fact that this was recorded by a camera or camcorder mic... I bet if you plug in directly to the show mix from the mixing board, it'll sound well balanced.

yea i agree, drums are too powerful... the snare sounds very awkward (its too loud). Plus you only hear the bell on the ride cymbal once in a while which is weird.

thats how it works, if the band cant here the drums they have no beat to go by. he most likely has a piccolo snare(sharper and louder sound). he isnt playing the rock on the ride the all that much and that is why you dont here it the whole time.
