Runs fine on my Pentium 4. Minecraft is prone to random-ass crashes for no reason whatsoever, other than the whole 32-bit-is-unstable-with-this-m­od issue. other than that, I seem to buffer at a good 30-40 frames per second, except on my own server, which taxes my system just a little too much. Then again, an XFX GTX 260 Black Edition And 2GB of crucial ballistix 800mHZ ram (Close to XP's cap as to what it can see) may be just a touch overkill for Minecraft.

When I use the mod 2 things go wrong

1: I get White lines coming through the leaves on trees as they move.

2: when I look around it goes fuzzy until I stop (is there a setting to stop this?)

@MrSynizter If you used the installer that came with the mod you should have no blackscreen unless it is incompatible with another mod. Force update minecraft to get rid of it.

Everyone stop sayig this should be addede to the game, it shouldn't, and hear me out here.

What makes mods like these so amazing is A: because of the mod itself but also B: Half the reason you love it so much is because its such a change from your boring old world.

If this mod was added to vannilla we would get bored of it and start to prefer the original, believe me i've played since alpha, I prefered te old look

My point is that the fact it isnt in vannilla is half of why it is so amazing...

dissent i need help. i have a quad core i5 proccesor a gtx 580 and 8 gb of ram. and i get about 20-30 fps with this mod. i have the newest version of java 64 bit installed and it still lags like hell. please help.

@thenerdyminecrafter If you know or can figure out how to tweak the shader settings, try turning off or tweaking some of them and see if your FPS goes up. Also, make sure optifine is installed and use Smooth FPS and turn off sky, and play on Fast with optifine changing the settings from fast to fancy. That's all I can think of because it chugs my system too!

@GamersDissent i fixed it myself by going to the optifine website and to the comment section looking for what other people has said about optifine. so i looked for tips and stuff but couldnt find anything. so i uninstalled optifine and my fps went up to 70. i dont know why but it just works. thanks anyway!

I've fixed a lot of bugs in the latest version that seems to have just slipped past getting recorded in this video. In addition to what you said about 64 bit java.

If you use Mac OS or iOS, the correct version of java will be the one from the app store.

Same with Linux. If you use either ubunt usoftware center or synaptic. Just search for OpenJDK.

Sometimes it has an open slot so you can upgrade and use it from that slot.

@Promethiustehawesome I have a 64bit version of Windows 7. By default my version of Java was for 32-bit systems. As such, it would freeze up very frequently. Downloading and installing the 64-bit-compatible Java for my Win 7 fixed my game :)

@Promethiustehawesome Basically 64bit runs faster than 32bit.

If you don't know if your operating system is 32 or 64 bit, right click on the "computer" icon and click "properties" (I believe it's called).

There you'll see all your system specs. That's how you do it on windows.

If you're on a Mac, open up the Terminal and type in system_profiler.

If you're on linux, click the super key (start menu), type in System monitor.

If you use Mac or Linux, you already have the correct version installed

@Promethiustehawesome if you run 64bit OS's your computer can see more than 3.5gb of ram or something of the sorts and minecraft is less likely to crash with the "out of memory" error. You can allocate even more ram to java to make minecraft way less likely to crash and possibly run better. I have 4GB of ram allocated to minecraft when I play and I haev 8gb of ram. So yes 64bit is the way to go if you have a 64bit os and processor.

@callofgame Assuming you installed everything correctly, I found that going into Optifine options and leaving Sky "On" or turning it back "On" did the trick for me. Made the sky blue and more pleasant.
