Help! i have this video camera but i can't transfer videos to my pc

i'm using a dvd-rw with video mode n i already finalized it but i can't transfer the video to my pc????

also does anyone know how 2 edit the parts that u don't want or add effects? any good editing software for this video camera?

I hate this camera, it f**** sucks, no matter which player, I can't get it to work either, a waste of money, I'm never buying anything Canon again, their iP2600 is a piece of clunky garbage too. If I could meet anybody from this company, I would give them a kick in the pants.

@CJ2603 you may be able to transfer the movie with the dazzle easy transfer capture device. Not sure if works but it can take any analog video device and convert it to digital file (mpeg 4, avi, wmv, )

You have to format them. It is in the book and in order to do that the cam must be plugged in..

@ingmasher45 No. All DVD players has a notch on the tray for the mini DVD. If you press the eject button either on the front panel or by remote, you can see the smaller notch in the tray. Place the mini DVD on the tray and the DVD player will detect it and begin playing.

I have a DVD burner that I've hooked up to my computer, you might want to check into buying one. Or you might be able to get some kind of special cord that will hook up to the comp as well.

I have Sony HandyCam DCR-DVD109 and it's way better than this crappy cam it has nightshot carl zeis vario-sonar optics touch screen and many other coooooo-o-o-o-ol stuff the bad thing in my camera and in this canon is that it records to mini dvd :D

you put the usb cord in the camcorder connecting to the usb port in the computer. Then you got to My Computer and click something like Drive H: or G: or I:.

I have also been reading about the issues with converting the DVD disc on to PC and somewhere along the line when i was reading reviews and all that i cam acorss and article saying that "Premiere Elements 5" can pick up Canon's video format. I guess any version of Elements (later than 5 if there is) can be used in this case. I haven't used this camcorder in my life but just bought one off ebay so am expecting it in another 3 days time max (since it's the weekend). Let me know how it goes. Ta

Ok if you guys go back and read the specifications, this DVD does not have a USB port which means that you are stuck with the DVD option. For a person like me it doesn't really matter because having cables around my laptop is just another fuss but for people who do not have DVD players on their PC's well they'll have to buy one i'm afriad.

Make a new folder and name it something that you can remember like maybe, "dvd videos" the insert the dvd click start, find "computer" or "my computer" and find the dvd, right click it then pick "views files" then drag the files to the new folder that you previously made on your desktop. I hope that i helped you even just a little bit.

you have to install your videos on your computer from your DVD CD you recorded first. then you can upload on Youtube
