i don't get it, if you have fast and slow digesting protein and mix it together, isn't it all gonna be slow digesting?? i know fo sho that mixing regular protein powder with milk makes you digest it slower because of the casein in the milk, don't you think this mixture has the same effect??
I've tried alot of protein powders and i can count on one hand how many i have actually thought afterwards "oh that was good, i would drink this again". Metabolic Drive is one of them, although I will say I think many of Biotest's products are a rip off. Anaconda for example
Sorry but T-nation (biotest supplements) are absolute junk PERIOD! do not waste your money on that shit. I have used all that stuff when I was a younger lad in the 80-90's and I will say that protein powders just clog your digestive system. Just eat food it taste better and your body can assimilate it. It had come to my attention that most supplement companies are nothing more that clever marketers.
why exactly is it junk? did you not see results? a supplement is not a supplement if it has nothing to supplement...i.e. a solid diet and effective training program
so if it adds muscle mass, shold I take it as a sprinter, the goal is to gain muscle strength while maintaining a somewhat low mass. I've seen a lot of people suggest this for sprinting, what do you think?
honestly, not many protiens make you gain muscle strength. the key is to put on more mass in order to gain more strength. I would say give it a try. you may gain 3-8 pounds of muscle but the strength gains from that extra muscle will make up for the extra weight..
So anecdotal evidence then. Your single experience = Biotest has definitely dropped in quality.
Can you actually explain how the quality has dropped? I am curious because I use Biotest almost exclusively. I want to know if their products are the best or not. But so far, your comments are vague at best.
It's not just me. Try looking at any forum that isn't sponsored by Biotest. :p
I'm not sure where I would start explaining? First, since they changed to MD from LCG, the price has gone up for what is just a rebranded product. Second, read the ingredients very carefully... you'll notice polydextrose and sunflower oil, and only 20 grams of protein per serving. What you're getting is sugar and fat filler. Look at some other brands... you'll see most have more than 20 grams protein per scoop, too.
Stop being misleading. I looked at other brands and their quantity of protein per scoop is the same or similar to Metabolic Drive.
Metabolic Drive has 22g of protein per 29g scoop. PHD Nutrition's Pharma Whey has 20g per 25g serving. Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Gold Standard contains 24g per 29.4g serving.
I'd also like to know where you got the idea of 'sugar and fat filler' from since Metabolic Drive contains 1.5g of fat and 0g of carbs that sugar per scoop.

Biotest products are so overpriced. The quality of ingredients has really gone down over the years, too.

Do you actually have any evidence supporting the second statement, or is it just something you 'heard' or 'read' somewhere?

Myself, as someone who's used their supplements for years and paid attention to the labels and the order in which the ingredients appear?
