  • lol

  • haha nice

  • Yeah double framing.

  • Is 2 frames a good speed on flash mx 2004 macromedia.

  • 2 frames? you mean 2 frames per second? that's extremely slow, you need to do at least 12 frames, but that's slow as well and animation will be choppy. 20 frames per second will normally make for a nice smooth animation without having too much frames.

  • Awesomeeeee!!!

  • haha nice!

  • great

  • hey, nice animation. Do you have any tips as to what's the best way to orgranize the flash content? Like right now, I seriously am finding it easy to just place everything on one layer, and then animate it one frame at a time. I'm not sure if that's good or not, but it seems to be pretty easy for me.

If I'm not using a lot of symbols or motion tweens, it only makes sense to use everything on one layer. Or is that a bad idea?

  • I do all my animations frame by frame, so I think that's always a good idea, mostly because it takes too much energy to learn how to organize symbols/tweens and get a smooth animation. But using just one layer is terrible, because you'd have to redraw the background and that would look shaky. As for characters,it's a good idea to do one layer per character, that way you can animate them separately, instead of doing them at the same time. I find that easier. There are other advantages too.

  • cool. I appreciate the tips, thanks. There's really not a lot of good flash help/tutorial sites out there, so any tips I can get really help me out. I'm pretty much learning the more I practice and toy around with the program.

  • One last thing. If I were doing a sort of army type of video, there may be 10+ guys on a screen at one time. Would it really be best to put each of the soldiers on their own layer?

  • yeah, it would be. like i said earlier, with characters, its best to do one character per layer. It makes things much easier when they 'intersect' (like go behind each other), cause that's really hard to animate if you're not using layers.

  • ah, that's a good point because I had a problem with that as well. If I had two guys on separate layers, and then lets say a blue guy is in front of a red guy on frame 20, and then let's say on frame 40, I need the red guy in front of the blue guy, I can't do that because I would have to shuffle the layers above or below each other. Using the "send to back" doesn't work unless the objects are on the same layer. If what I said makes sense, that's the only problem i was having with layers.

  • you're right, i run into that problem every once in a while, normally i make an extra layer instead of 'send to back'. but what you say does make sense, so i guess you could do it either way, its really your choice, whicever one comes easier.

  • ok cool, thanks again for the tips. - subscribing to your animation channel
