  • Nicholas, ou're right about eveybody havig its own angle on the story. I did however use Goethe's text (i believe it was Goethe ) as a basis for the story.

The following this shorty movie has got is slightly alarming as to me it was only an exercise in machinima with "the Movies". An application which I subsequently found too restrictive and disappointing and then forgot.

  • good job but you got the story wrong but I guess everybody has there own image

it's supposed to be about a skeleton that plays violin and he comes out every Halloween and the skeletons dance until morning

    :)

  • A great job. You missed parts and you need to fix the word for ever, into forever. A awesome Job though. I made one, it is in wizard101, the first in wizard101! It's called, dance macabre~ a wizard101 clip. This is the 3 re video I watch, it's great!

  • nice looks like a lot of work

  • very creative! wonderful job!

  • Hi friends!...who knows about an animation- movie probabley made in 70's ? i watched in on the TV as i was 12. maybe 1974....please help!

  • I keep coming back to this as it is definitely the best video to go with this brilliant music! If you ever put this on DVD I would definitely buy a copy, and if you've made any more videos. Awesome stuff...good onya (Angie, Perth, West Australia)

  • The skellies are charming! Nice hommage to Nosferatu, the one rising from his grave stiff like a plank

  • Thank you. Very kind.

You must however not read too much in it.

Many of the effects are a consequence of the "The Movies" application's strange and unpredictable quircks and foibles.

  • Loved it! Thank you.

  • Thank you for your kind reaction

    Harry

  • oh my gosh! is there any way you would finish the whole song? That was the reatest thing ive ever seen!

  • Hi Safros, other things are of more importance right now, like our toy theatre. see other movies.

    Harry

  • Thanks Kayla, glad you liked it

    Harry

  • Wow, I loved it. You managed to give the skeletons so much personality, and I loved the way the graveyard looked.

  • Wow! Really awesome! Loved the smoker...we in Australia can't smoke in restaurants or pubs or just about anywhere...nice touch! you're really talented and that twist on the original music is great also! thank you very much indeed!! angie x

  • Thank you for your kind remakrs Angie.

The smoking situation in the Netherlands is the same as in Australia, so the only place you can smoke is probably the graveyard :-)

Funny thing is;" Smoking will get you there"

    Harry

  • I decided that in order to get some rest I will have myself cremated :-)

  • I hope I don't get burried in a graveyard like that... there's skeletons lying about all over the place! Great video. :D

  • Beautiful! The music is lovely the way you have done it, too.

I think someone ought to warn the skeleton though that smoking can seriously shorten your life.... :-)

  • The reason they smoke in the graveyard is that in Holland you are not allowed to smoke in the restaurants any more.

  • wow, very good

  • Thank you, Keep it coming:-)

  • I loved it, your interpretation of the music is great.

  • Just some midifiles and Garageband. And of course "The Movies"

    Harry

  • whoa... that was awesome...

How'd you get the music to play on post production?

  • Hackersun, the original music was a midi file that I orchestrated in Garageband and then edited to a reasonable time. Then in The Movies I made the animations fit the music.

    Harry

  • Me too! I actually played the solo.

  • very artistic rendition of the song.

  • I think the second Doub(l)e above merits an "L"

  • H-A-Double L-O-W-Doube E-N is Halloween!

  • Very clever, captured the song well. Although Danse Macabre is supposed to represent spirits forever dancing in a garden.

  • Actually I ued the text of the german poem which talks about the "Death" no specifics given and then of course is the story of the same name about the vicar who steals the shroud of one of the dancers and then flees into the church steeple only find that the body is climbing the steeple on the outside.

  • Nice work. I normally don't care for animation, but you did a very nice job with this. Five stars.

  • Well Done, Nice Animation And Story.

  • Hi, never commented on a video before but really this was excellent work..I too love this piece of music and great film to go with it, thank you :)

  • Awesome work bro :)

Btw, Camille Saint-Säens' Dance Macabre is one of my favourite songs ever.

  • Thank you, most kind.
