The radio stations used to start their "day" with this song in my hick town in New Mexico. people loved it. If the masses had only known!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
When I was a teen and there were only 4 TV stations in Detroit, Channel 4 used this song to sign off for the night. Yes kids TV was not a 24 hour a day thing in the 70s.
@captainlockheed214 Yay your old, congrats. I'll get old and say how shitty we had it compared to the next generation that come squalling out of the womb.
And then they'll do it, then they'll do it..........
Damn people are stupid. Age gives you no moral high-ground over anything -If you assume the younger generations are infactuated with chart garbage you are suffering from pig ignorance. You cannot base a whole genre also on a stereotypical image.I'm 16 and i listen to whatever the fuck i want. Sick of my generation being judged by a bunch of forty year olds who listen to this music by fall of circumstance and think they can throw around assumptions when they are only scratching the surface.
@funkadelicmunk I could not agree more...you are right. The only thing that might stand is the time factor......otherwise,it's how you feel...brother,different plane.....same time you dig? and you are right don't be like them,enjoy.........
I have always loved this tune. When I was a kid (and budding Sab fan) my grandparents used to take me to the Texas coast around Corpus Christi. We would camp out on the Laguna Madre (the inner part of the Intracoastal Waterway). This song always played in my head during those times. Lovely song and brings back great memories.
lo extraño del Black Sabbath es que siendo rockeros tan ácidos , pesados, oscuros, hayan sido capaces de crear esta belleza de rolita, con esta ternura de apenas rozando las ramitas
If you played this song for someone who wasn't a metal fan and asked them who did this, I don't know if anyone would say Black Sabbath. It's a beautiful piece of music and quite a contrast from say Snowblind, which was on this album. It shows you how diverse the band could be.
these kids are just sayin they respect and appreciate these bands. be glad bout it. there is still hope for rock n roll. they could be listening to rap.
You people don't know how cool it was to be a flower child like me. And now I'm an old man and my long hair fell out. But I still have good memories and I think one old black light poster in the attic somewhere - a motorcycle or something I think.
WHY does every little kid on YouTube feel the need to comment and tell us how old they are that they are die hard Sabbath/LedZep/Stones/Ozzy fans? Really...nobody fucking cares how old you are. Just listen to the music. Your age in contrast with the age of the song doesnt make you special in any circles.
@VoodooPolitico because their generation is associated with Rap music, and Justin Beiber, and they desperately want to distance themselves from that... wouldnt you? suppose you shut the fuck up?
@wolfatnight Every decade had shitty mainstream pop music...this generation's mainstream garbage is really no worse than in the 90's, 80's 70's etc. People should just listen to what they enjoy and not fucking worry if the music they like makes them look cool or not. if someone likes Beiber, fuck it, let em enjoy that, I'd rather that be the case than someone pretending to love Sabbath just to be cool.
@GoongalaGoongala Sabbath? COOL? come on! are you serious? Who would want to like B. Sabbath to be cool? Those old burnouts ALWAYS sucked, even in the seventies! I put them up there with MOTORHEAD, another bunch of bullshitters. Led Zeppelin was good even Deep Purple were good musicians. But Black Sabbath was like Kiss, 4 bullshitters faking their way through so they could stay high on drugs at somebody else's expense. Learn a musical instrument know what good music is, even rock can be good.
@GoongalaGoongala your a goose i did,t catch the name of your band ,after all you were in the biz for 30 years but ill give you benafit of doubt there was alot of compitition in them days
@VoodooPolitico Hey old burnout! You sound like a real low life! Leave the kids alone, if they like this loser music, then rest assured there will be another low life to carry on after you die from cancer. Now if you'd like me to teach you some manners my name is Tom Brutis and I'd love to squeeze your head like a pimple! Coming near the Philadelphia area anytime? look me up punk!
@koletski21 WOW! Where do I start? You obviously have ALOT of issues that medication and therapy might be able to help you with. I make a comment about kids posting their ages and YOU actually want to a physical confrontation about it? NORMAL people see that as really fucking unusual. NORMAL people see that kind of behavior as disturbed. You will probably die old and lonely or your demons will lead you to suicide. Either way, your life must REALLLLLY SUCK. Enjoy the music!!!!!!
@VoodooPolitico Yeah well! NORMAL people hear black sabbath and say WOW! that is STONER music. Got any tattoos? lengthy prison record?, history in a rehab facility? That is what NORMALl people think about black sabbath fans. OLD BURNOUTS! Casual use of F words on internet shows low class and inferior mentality. A Jerry Springer guest I suppose.
SOOOO..."low class and inferior mentality"..thats not like wanting to meet somebody in Philadelphia to fight about a comment made on YouTube is it? Could it be? Hmmm? Maybe? That right there is pretty "Jerry Springer-ish". Doncha kinda maybe think? Naw...you DONT think.
Go ahead. Keep validating my comment about you. Your doing a great job!!
@VoodooPolitico I don't think their trying to show their special, I just think they want to show older generations of fans that there are people in the younger generation who appreciate the music and will make sure it will live on and be passed down 60 years from now. But I could be wrong
@baboonsofsteel43 That could be, but Sabbath was never really all that good to be passed down from generation to generation, I really would hope it dies with the burnouts that remember it. I'm still trying to forget them before I get old. I don't want to be walking with a walker wearing depends humming Black Sabbath songs playing checkers at the old folks home, what a nightmare.
@koletski21 WTF are you talking about?! There is something amazing about Sabbath's sound from their s/t through Sabatage. Its so good. Its as if all the planets aligned. I don't know if aband will ever come along that will be able to do what Sabbath did in the early/mod 70's with the albums they put out - 6 Classics in a row. I'm 27 and discoverd Sabbath years ago and will be enjoying the music until I die. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a fan of Black Sabbath..none at all.
@GoongalaGoongala I AM IRON MAAAN!!!!! NA! NA! nana NA!, Nanananananana, nana NA! .....They were a bunch of losers. Ozzy couldn't sing a lick! Tony was all thumbs on the guitar, and that drummer followed the guitar like a swinging pendulum striking a drum skin with every strum of the guitar like a trained monkey! They truly lacked musical skill. Trust me I've been a trained musician in Classical, Rock, Jazz, even Bluegrass and World music for 30 yrs. I know when a "band" is bullshitting.
@novatotubaboy Oh? Well I'd put them just above KISS as far as musical ability. But I'll reconsider my judgement if you explain. Which member of the band turns you on? Give me an example of technical prowess or name a song that possesses characteristics of an excellent composition. I realize we're dealing with drug addicts so I'll grade them on a curve. There are probably no Rock musicians that were at a J.S. Bach level. But again, these were drug addicts trying to stay high without working.
@koletski21 The riffs may not be complex but not all music needs to be a demonstration of how complex you can be and Tony had no fucking fingertips on one hand. Once again, its metal, the singer doesn't exactly need to be a choral expert in ozzy's defense, honestly, its Ozzy and Geezer's lyric's combined with Bill's busy style of drumming mirroring the power chord riff styles of Tony that made this band so great. No they aren't fucking Bach, its rock n roll man.
@novatotubaboy Yeah, I knew about Tony's fingertips, he was disadvantaged. But I like how you addressed the drummer as "mirroring the power chord riffs" That's a fancy way of saying: "He would beat the drum skins synchronously with each strum of the guitar like some sort of trained monkey." No disrespect to you, but come on man, let's admit that Black Sabbath were just another group of burnout drug addict Englishmen trying to stay high at someone else's expense. The songs were plain stupid.
I dont mean he literally mirrored everything tony did, i mean he added force to the back of tony's chords and added an almost constant stream of fills
@novatotubaboy Oh,OK! But I mean it exactly like I said it. The drummer beat the skins simultaneously with each strum of the guitar like some sort of trained monkey! In fact the picture on the "Born Again" album cover shows a portrait of the little red monkey-drummer. Betcha never knew that! A little Sabbath trivia facts for ya!
Well, music means the art of combining sounds in order to sounds good to the ears, good music don't need to be harmonically complex to be good, you fucking idiot.
And one other thing why EVERY wannabe classical musician mentions bach in his speech? lol
Anyway, you're just a troll, so why am i worry about it huh?
@teslaphysics Well I actually saw this cd in the store two months ago.and bought it. You may want to try that option once in your life. You may be surprised of what you can find and buy in a record store...............
all of you guys should just chill , sit back and listen to this wonderful song. who gives a shit if music now is crap or was better back then. which is true. but damn just relax and click play
I'm a 3 month old fetus and I've been playing my mom's umbilical cord for a couple weeks, I learned 2 things. My mom eats too much spicy food and smokes too much weed.
@Chilling10680 Maby the spicy food will cause yer mom to poop ya out and you will be free at last,,, and yer mom will no longer be full of shit,, like a win,win thing ,,Right??
@Chilling10680 THERES NO WAY A 3 MONTH OLD FETUS COULD PLAY GUITAR, OR EVEN TYPE ON A COMPUTER. IDIOT TROLL IS IDIOT, GO BACK TO YOUR MOTHERS UMBILICAL CORD JACKASS.
..Dude 108Resurrection, welcome to the fans of Sabbath!! No you don't need to turn evil or dark to listen to them...It's cool to read someone who's just now getting turned on to them..And yes, you are right Alice in Chains were HEAVILY influenced by Black Sabbath... :-) Listen to the last Sabbath album Never Say Die...I think you'll like it too.. :-)
@heavymetaldrew i get that its a major chill out and uplifting track, but if you ever say its an " uber chill grotto " again i will personally find you and take your scalp and give it to the very last of the over 50's T.A Paratroop rgt as a war trophy you punk arse ghetto rat!
@RoyMM46 i have heard Black Sabbath described in alot of ways by alot of peopel , from acid head stoners to flaky journalists , and that is far and away the worst description I have ever heard . Right on
@RisingSon011 haha!! am laughing at my friends comments :) he's been commenting while ive been in the shower or summat, but i like what he said, quite amusing indeed
@RoyMM46 hahaha yeah as much hate using the words "uber" and "chill" it was the best fitting words i could think of at the time. in retrospect a better word would be tranquil and/or serene. And as for scalping me, please dont because attached to my scalp are my metal locks which are a key factor in headbanging lol lml
I'm so upset the YouTube owners, or whoever, don't allow FLUFF to be played in my country, except for poor-quality or cut-off versions; the same is being done with much of the music I luv! :(
A year ago, I was able to play almost everything, but now I'm not. Youtube is starting to suck. Please forgive me, you people, but that's what I think! :(
This song is the one thing that got me through my senior year of highscool. when the work was pialing up over my head the the all across my grade sheet were F's and it looked like there was no hope, i would go out to my car, drive up my street to this uber chill grotto, light up a ciggerette and crank this tune. you cant be stressed or angery after you listen to this tune, it just makes everything work.

No disrespect to you, but come on man, let's admit that Black Sabbath were just another group of burnout drug addict Englishmen trying to stay high at someone else's expense. The songs were plain stupid.
koletski21 2 months ago
@koletski21 ur not understanding me
I dont mean he literally mirrored everything tony did, i mean he added force to the back of tony's chords and added an almost constant stream of fills
novatotubaboy 2 months ago
@novatotubaboy Oh,OK! But I mean it exactly like I said it. The drummer beat the skins simultaneously with each strum of the guitar like some sort of trained monkey! In fact the picture on the "Born Again" album cover shows a portrait of the little red monkey-drummer. Betcha never knew that! A little Sabbath trivia facts for ya!
koletski21 2 months ago
@koletski21 in fact i did know that, and just listen to his fills'

Hey, do you know what is the definition of music?
Well, music means the art of combining sounds in order to sounds good to the ears, good music don't need to be harmonically complex to be good, you fucking idiot.
And one other thing why EVERY wannabe classical musician mentions bach in his speech? lol
Anyway, you're just a troll, so why am i worry about it huh?
Sorry about my english, i'm brazilian

@heavymetaldrew i get that its a major chill out and uplifting track, but if you ever say its an " uber chill grotto " again i will personally find you and take your scalp and give it to the very last of the over 50's T.A Paratroop rgt as a war trophy you punk arse ghetto rat!
RoyMM46 8 months ago
@RoyMM46 i have heard Black Sabbath described in alot of ways by alot of peopel , from acid head stoners to flaky journalists , and that is far and away the worst description I have ever heard . Right on

@RisingSon011 haha!! am laughing at my friends comments :) he's been commenting while ive been in the shower or summat, but i like what he said, quite amusing indeed
RoyMM46 8 months ago
