    And btw, cool haircut ^^

  • This is my new handmade sculptural ocarina. Let me know what you think of it! Making copies of this shape without my permission is prohibited.

    I lol'd.

  • @PressXtonotdie haha, yep... I liked the Banelings video.

  • @Schwessie Glad to hear it. Would you be interested

in releasing more tutorials on clay ocarinas? I've never made an ocarina before, but I intend to start learning, and your 12 hole tutorial was extremely useful.

  • @PressXtonotdie

Right now I am making some molds and trying to get a 12-hole concert pitched ocarina-mold. I might make some other tutorials, but not in the near future. I just don`t have the time besides work, bands, etc.

  • do you sell them?

  • @Killerboot369

I don`t have a store, but I can sell through e-bay. I am currently working on a casting mold for a 12-hole, What kind of ocarina are you looking for?

  • @Schwessie im looking for a sweet potato 12 or 7 hole for sale

  • @Killerboot369 In about a month I can make you one if you want, but now I`m still busy with my house (renovations). Once it`s done I`ll be making ocarinas again.

  • Your really talented you should make me one!!!

  • Cool

I like the idea of the shape.

    thanks for sharing.

  • @pankuolong Thank You!

  • is very nice you ocarina, a like.....

  • very good!111o yeaaaaaa

  • @ldanielr1 Thanks. I also hope the tutorial will be helpful to you. Greetings from The Netherlands!

  • The sound of it is so rich and beautiful! I love it!

Also, the look of it is simply spectacular!

  • @lunamoth3212 Thanks! I just made a multi chambered harmonic ocarina (huaca). Maybe I`ll make a video about that one soon.

  • Your ocarinas are incredible! You are quite a natural player.

  • Reminds me a lot of the Songbird Muse, sorry to say that.

  • @jannisotto

That`s probably because it has a face and is white, just like the muse. The shape and moutpiece placement is totally different.

  • @Schwessie How ever, it sounds good and looks good as most of your ocarinas. Good work.

  • HOLY CRAP!! awsome ocarina

  • @ocboy98

    Thanks!

  • how can i get you to do me an ocarina?

  • Awsome ocarina!

  • @Maxor1290 Thank You!

  • These are some of the most beautiful ocarinas of yours i just started making my own last Friday. 5 working ocs! xD You should make how to's on how to play the instrument :)

  • Man i look at differnt people ocarina's and they buy it. but yours, YOU made it and it looks wonderful. I don't actually own one (yet feel left out ) but really want one like yours. So cool

  • @enteifeeder

Thanks! I`m still making ocarinas. You should also get some clay... watch my tutorial and start making one. I`m also thinking oc doing another Youtube ocarina contest soon, so maybe you can win one... and since you subscribed... you`ll know when the video is up.

  • That's a very pretty ocarina you have there.

  • @Harkadenn Thank You! I like the organic look too.

  • wanna make me one?? :D

that one looks bought actuly. you should try making some and put them on ebay ot smthing.. maight earn you some extra cash :P

  • @MrTommykk Hi... I actually do sometimes, lol. I could make you a nice ocarina if you`re interested.

  • that would be nice :)

i would want an ocarina of time or the starter ocarina in the legend of zelda the ocarina of time as i love that game :D

  • @MrTommykk What does the starter ocarina look like... do you have a picture? I could make an ocarina of time, but I don`t have the right glaze colours right now. What colours do you like?

  • im gonna make one in the shape of a gun

  • @jumpingjellyguy I think that could work. The handle will be the moutpiece then? Make sure that you try to make the internal cavity as round as possible... that works better for the sound.

  • or maybe a grenade shape...

  • hell yea dat will look awsome!

  • Wow, this is definitely my favorite of your ocarinas. I really love the design!

  • amazing... i wish i could make one like that :P :-)

  • @kissmytrucksfb Thanks... It is lot of fun to make them... just watch my tutorial and you`ll be making your own ocarina in no-time!

  • im going to try in the summer :)

  • dang thats good. but it's a tad airy. makes it sound like an owl.

  • Makes me think of a creepier version of Darryn Songbird's The 'Muse' ocarina.

  • Haha, I wasn`t trying to scare you! :-)

  • Sooo nice! I like the shape, and especially the sound! It sound so soft and warm :)

    You are talented!

  • Petey : Can you tell me what is the name of the clay , i need to make a well tuned ocarina.

  • I currently use creaton clay 25% chamotte 0- 0,2 mm. So really fine grogged clay... but there are more brands that have similar clays. Just ask at a local arts and crafts store or pottery. Good luck on the ocarina!

  • Petey : THX , Btw I made the horned shaped ocarina you made as a slide show , it became good but some note were weird.

  • Yes, tuning is difficult at first... just keep working at it and it`ll get better... nice to hear that you made your own ocarina! Good job.

  • lovely design and..-is jealous- :3

  • Thank you... It was quite a lot of work, but it turned out nice. I`va actually mode a few more in more or less the same style, but I`m quite busy with work lately, so I haven`t been able to make a lot in the last few weeks.

  • i like the design a lot. it looks very original and the sound is great as well. i would love to see these up for sale sometime

  • Had you ever considered selling your ocarinas? They seem to be of VERY high quality, and you could probably get a respectable following, with proper advertising.

  • Thanks, I am thinking of putting some ocarinas on E-bay, but I don`t have molds yet, so I can only make a few... I should start thinking of making a mold or two... lol

  • it looks so much like the songbird "muse" ocarina

  • sounds lovely!

    and awesome design!

  • alrite thanks

  • what type

  • Do you mean the type of clay? The clay needs to be really fine grogged that has to be baked at at least 1200 degrees in a special kiln. So clay also used for sculptures, etc.

  • whats that made out of .... how did u make it

  • It`s made out of clay and I make them by hand.

  • Je kan horen dat u uit nederland komt. De ocarina ziet er goed uit!. Hij klinkt ook goed.

  • you should make a zelda fariy ocarina replica cause you don't see them much and id'e like to see one

  • Hi there.. Yes, there are so many possibilities with ocarinas. I have made some zelda-replica`s, but never in the puple fairy colour. Maybe I`ll try that some day!

  • i love the design especially for a home made ocarina!

  • Very nice-sounding ocarina! :D

Its appearance reminds me a lot of Darryn Songbird's "The Muse" sculptural ocarina, except for the position of the face.

  • Well, that`s a great compliment. The muse looks great, but that one is even more complicated with the lines and has a different overall shape. I guess it`s the face and the colour that give it a similar feel.

  • wow you went so far as to get a patent...

  • No, it`s not a patent, just copyrighted because it only applies to the shape of the ocarina, not the technical aspects. Copyright is automatically your right as an artist/creator of that specific shape.

  • oh okay, so what exactly does someone have to do to get your permisssion? (im not planning to make one, i haven't even made an oc yet...)

  • Well... ask I guess, but it`s better to come up with another original design. It`s only a way to keep the right on my own design... so if I ever want to make them commercially I am the only one who can use this specific shape. That`s pretty much it.

  • I wish you could give me lessons in making ocarinas. All your ocarinas end up looking great and sounding beautiful!

  • I could teach you the basics, but you`d still have to practice at getting a great sound. Unfortunately it`s not as easy as it looks especially the 12-holes. I would start with a 4 or 5-hole first. If you have questions just write me at my hotmail.

  • How do you maintain such a great sound with 12 holes? I can't manage anything above 9 holes! Awesome job!

  • Lots of practice and lots of messing up! Everytime I try new approaches and see how I end up. The 12-holes are defenitely the most difficult, but keep focussing on the airway, soundhole and ramp. You`ll get it...

  • Practice makes perfect, I suppose. How long have you been making ocarinas for?

  • Hmmm... I guess I started about six months ago. What kind of tool do you use to make the airway?

  • I use a popsicle stick. It gives a perfect width for the tenor and bass :)

Six months! And they sound and look far better than mine do? Did you take a pottery class for school or something?

  • Yes I did. Officially I am an art-therapist, so that helps with making them look good, but that`s not the most important. Once you have a good sound then you can focus on the shapes. It`s pointless to spend time on a great shape when the oc sounds rubbish, haha.

  • Yes, and I now have the sound perfected recently. I now need to make them look nice, but the clay that I use still has little pebbles in it. I need smooth clay to make them look nice, but I'll be selling them as they are (provided they don't lose their sound after initial firing.

So that's why your ocarinas look so much smoother than mine! You've taken art-therapy classes. I never worked with clay before I started making ocs, so my first ones were terrible, lol!

  • Yes, I would really recommend getting a really smooth clay. Those small dried clay particles or chamotte can really change the airflow inside the airchannel or on the ramp, so it`s better to avoid that. I just watched your tutorial and I do see some differences in the style of making them, especially the airway/voicing part and also about shaping them. I only use my hands to make the shape, pretty much like you do around 2.13.

  • Brilliant!!

  • This is probably your best ocarina video. Nice look. I want one.

  • If I only had a mold, ey?

  • I know!! That design could be a goldmine! It may work if you make a plaster mold, but the drying process or actually getting the ocarina from the mold may ruin it. Aww well, it's the uniqueness that makes that valuable.

  • Yes, when I can find the time I might have to experiment a little with trying to make molds, or maybe take a class or something. But for now I`m just trying to make different shapes and using different types of clay. Thanks for the comment!

  • I like the eerie look, and it has very nice sound.

  • Very impressive! It looks and sounds beautiful!

  • Thanks and... you`ve got some great ocarina skills going on as well. I loved the Charleston stuff.

  • Hehe, thanks!
