I worked for out fit like that. lowest bidder, setting me up for failure. they would have employees killed, back in the 90's.. They didnt train properly, you didnt know the proper procedure for going down man holes, how to use equipment, nothing. They finally were sued. Million dollars later, EPA, feds ,state,law suits, did them in.

the actual R.Q. of anhydrous ammonia is 100lbs. the R.Q. for ammonium hydroxide is 1000lbs. a leak of this scale is not over its R.Q. just a fyi for ya that having been said, i would have wrote that fool up so fast for not having at least a face shield and googles at the bare minumum his head would have spun off his shoulders. btw the recording that is being done here is a direct violation of privacy and trade acts wich most employees that work at anhydrous plants sighn

lol, there would be no regulation NOT to wear PPE there are only regulations that state u have to wear PPE... but anyway, you WOULD have to wear it,with any kind of chemical that has a probability of harming you (even if u have to swallow a litre of it to get a belly ache) would have COSH instructions on how to handle, and ppe to wear, plus employers have regs to follow, plus that shit is REAL nasty, if the company doesnt give u the proper ppe to do a job, then REFUSE to do it, dont be a patsy

so you are saying that when the farmer is filling his tank with anhydrous and unhooks the hose that he has to report the small amount that escapes from between the valves on the applicator and the hose? because i haven't filed a report for doing that in all of the years that i have been doing it

That is incorrect. The reportable quantity for anhydrous ammonia is 100 lbs. All companies that store a certain amount of hazardous chemicals, such as ammonia, are required to comply with PSM (Process Safety Management). This is a multifaceted program including Emergency Response Plan, Safety Interlocks, and Procedures. Farmers are exempt from this.

If you also look at anyone that OSHA inspects, you are going to see a fine. They are always going to find something. Hopefully at this point you are not working at Primeland. I think you would be a liability to the company. (personal opinion!)

The guy who fixed it looked like he knew what he was doing, didn't look panicked at all, and he did a good job. Probably was a valve that wasn't closed all the way, or a leaky packing. Big deal, happens everyday. You don't have to have PPEs to fix minor leaks (And yes, this is a minor leak, it looks bad to you because you have no idea what you're doing, you admit it in other videos.) If you're the untrained temp worker, then walk away, you're not supposed to be working on a leak anyway.

I know for a fact that proper PPE is on the premises at Primeland. I used to inspect them regularly at all locations and I know that the safety program has only continued at greater strengths. I am not here to argue with you, just don't agree with the way you seem to have went about this.

Check the Osha reports and fines and then and then tell me how much you know.just check and see. if your right than whats the problem? Why would they get fined if the gear was there and the rules where being followed? It's not rocket science, Or maybe to you it is.

Proper PPE for Anhydrous or phostoxin was not given to the employees when asked. When training and PPE were requested, Proper PPE never came until the OSHA inspection. See OSHA records for violations. IT IS SAD WHEN PEOPLE RISK THE HEALTH OF THE EMPLOYEES AND THE CUSTOMERS. Maybe you have personal interest. cameras don't lie, do some research. With so much interest in the videos I will add more, Like people drinking and driving company rigs during work and giving beer to underage employees.

If you had such a problem working in these conditions, you could have refused to work there. I know from personal experience that the employees are highly trained at Primeland and that safety is no joke to the company, it is grounds for termination. If you needed more training to do your job, all you had to do is request it! Why weren't you wearing PPE when you were shooting your secretive video? You mentioned that you could hardly breath and that your eyes were burning.Get your facts straight!

I agree with you, so long the company offers PPE to their workers it's all good, it's the workers choice weather to use the safety gear or not.
