J-B non-embedding bore cleaning compound is abrasive, but it is not dangerous to your air rifle. It will help to polish the inside of your bore, without wearing it out.

@pyramydair that is not what i am worried about will the wire brush alone hurt my air rifle. also do you know if the gamo whisper DX uses a brass or steel barrel. sorry im now to the airgun world.

No, it won't harm a steel barrel, but there is no reason to do it. A wire brush, alone will not clean the barrel like one loaded with JB Paste will.

You can use the wire brush as long as it is brass or bronze and as long as your airgun barrel is steel. Never use a brush in a brass barrel, or even clean a brass barrel, for that matter.

Yes, although you will need to clean from the muzzle end and will need a pistol brush because of that.

It was a Dewey cleaning rod. Very common in gun stores. Also Pyramyd Air sells them online.

Why use a bronze brush on a weapon that does not burn powder and have carbon deposits etc in the barrel. I would never use a brush of any sort on my airguns. There is more chance of damaging the rifling using the brush because of the the steel rod and the ferrule scratching the barrel.

use a soft brush so you dont damage the barrel !

and lube the soft brush with balistol and down into the barrel.

thats the best way.

No, we don't. Airsoft guns don't get dirty in the traditional sense of the word, so they would be cleaned like any other pierce of equipment that has similar materials.
