Soki is Black Oni/God of Darkness and his Genma Father Hideyoshi is God of Light

the Black Oni is the name of Soki's true form and (supposedly) the legendary oni and Samanosuke called himself Tenkai cuz he was hiding his true identity plus he's no longer an Onimusha in Dawn of Dreams until he recovered the Onimusha Gauntlet

Even more confusing than some of the song titles is that Samanosuke calls himself Tenkai in this game...

Samanosuke was, in real history, Akechi Mitsuhide's son-in-law...and his given name was Hidemitsu, which might be an intentional anagram of his father-in-law's given name.

What leads to my confusion is the rumors that were started up about Mitsuhide surviving the Battle of Yamazaki, and becoming a monk with the name "Tenkai", so I guess Mitsuhide might've already died in the story.

With any luck with the movie gaining some hype, 2 more games will be come along to kinda make the Onimusha series a 6 part series like Star Wars, Anyway the Hideyoshi saga is far from finished yet, I want to see at least Jubei & Samanosukue at least team up, and perhaps Ohatsu be with Roberto if 2 more games are made.

No, Hideyoshi is (if I remember correctly) Soki's father, and was posessed by the Genmma. This is just one of the themes that plays during on of their one-on-one fights.

I think Blue Oni is just a nickname. Soki is the black oni, the one that will eventually turn into [you know what but I won't spoil it to people who have not finished the game yet] at the end of the game. Only the black oni can turn into that [you know what]

@ZeroGrav122 Jubei Yaygyu, or Seikusyusai, has never been referred to as the Blue Oni, in fact the only nickname applied to him is Jubei. Samanosuke is the Red Oni as depicted by his use of red armour (And red skin while in the Onimusha form), while Soki is the Oni of the Ash, and, Black Oni, denoting his ties to the God of Darkness, he is also referred to as the Blue Demon because of his use of blue armour, the horned headband he wears and his monsterous fighting prowess with giant broadswords.
