This the first episode of Red Dwarf that I ever saw on PBS years ago! It's still funny but Robert Llewellyn was a far, far better Kryten than David Ross, whom I liked better as Talkie Toaster.

This really annoys me when people claim that the original is always the best or they're the best because they're the original. Well obviously they're not.

David Ross was the first Kryten but Robert Llwellyn is so much better. And David was only in like ONE episode which is this one, Robert was in all of them from series 3 to series 8!

The reason why I'm coming up with this is because some idiot said that David Ross is the best just because he was the fucking "original".

Ross wasn't able to continue the role (when the character was brought back in season 3) due to scheduling issues so Robert Llewellyn took over.

It's Krytens first appearance (2nd series), a rebuild in series three gives him the familar look and voice you're thinking of
