@234trusto It's a Bleroit' and that was when REAL men flew airplanes, and navigation equipment was knowing WHERE you were headed. Compass? How quaint, they weren't in aircraft for a long time and not that common up until the early 30's.
some questions: what airport are you at in the second scene what is the aircraft name in the second scene and were did you get or download the wings of power?
what a smart looking German aircraft, has the ability to climb vertically, but I noticed something - the wingspan is longer than the body length and this too make a strange sense to me.
in terms of planes? the list is long... MiG-29, Su-27, Il-76, Tu-95, Tu-26, Tu-160, etc. and those are just the main front-line types, some of which spawned massive families... the Russians used to never throw anything away, they even kept WWII-era artillery in storage bunkers, ready at a moment's notice! so they keep a lot of old birds in service, mainly because of their simplicity, low cost, and ruggedness.
Ah! Just like the T-34 tank used during WWII. Not too costly, and very robust. I guess you need that kind of equipment when you operate in the Russian climate. The Americans, on the other hand, have marvels of engineering at their service, ( F-22 , F-35 , V-22 Osprey )but these things cost a load, I don't know how they can afford it. Up here, in Canada, we've got a hundred F-18's.
yeah, and your CF-18s are falling apart! wasn't Canada supposed to have a CF-220 Grizzly indigenous fighter? what happened? as to the USAF and USN, they can't afford them; the Navy never makes its annual aircraft acquisition quotas, and the F-22A for the Air Force is a big-ass investment (which is why there are only a couple hundred). I love how everyone overestimates the 80% overweight, not-so-stealthy JSF... and the V-22 can't autorotate, among other requirements the Marines had to drop
Well, after using a plane for 30 years, I guess it starts to fall apart, doesn't it? I've read that Canada might purchase a batch of F-35 Lightning II's to replace the CF-18 a few years from now, though, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for news of that.
Yes, the F-22 IS a big investment, but the weight and stealth problems have been solved, I believe. As for the V-22, it's not the best helicopter in the world, granted, it just looks awesome.
i don't believe weight was ever a problem for the Raptor, it never carried enough ordnance to merit it. as to "stealth problems" being "solved", stealth is not the end-all every-one thinks it is. it does not make you invisible, just merely harder to detect at longer ranges. but as radar keeps advancing, eventially stealth will become impossible as a design, in my opinion. and while aesthetic apeal is definitely a common characteristic of most successful aircraft, the V-22... we'll see...
why everybody speak always about il2?

the Ta-183 heavily influenced Russian aircraft design; the MiG-15 was a practical copy!
