Hey, listen, a mate of mine told me that the Air Corps just recently bought new planes. Do you know anything about this? It would make sense as well considering how another friend of mine just got his third and fourth interview with the Air Corp. You know, to get new personnel to man the new aircrafts.
@oMisFiTx Good luck. Well if you're 17 while still in school I'd recommend you join the Army Reserves first as it will give you a good insight. If you want to join the army as an officer than you must have good Leaving Cert grades.
@shayno125 hey man, im back again. haha. ye i just wanted to ask you one question. do you know the way the ban and recruiting is still on ? will that be over by the time i join ? im 15 by the way and in 3rd year but im skipping 4th year so i will be out in...... 3 years i guess :D thanks
@oMisFiTx Hey nice! Im in the Irish army. You have to be 24 to join the actual army. If you are 17 or 18 as shayno said Join the reserve. It gives you good help. You can join as an: Apprentice (mechanic) Cadet or a Recruit :) I joined as a recruit I dont know what the rest is like.
@MYNAMEISTHERANDOMEST no you dont have to be 24 to join, the upper age limit for recruitment is 24 , ie. if your older than 24 you cant enlist.if your going to give advice at least get your facts right .
@MYNAMEISTHERANDOMEST about 4 posts down you say ''Yeah the min age limit is 24. I was 22 I sent an application they said I had to be 24'' so you posted wrong info, the min age is not 24 the upper age is , AND im also in the fucking army, not that it makes any difference
@CycleGranCanaria It is their own camo design - their very own Irish DPM - made in Galyway I believe - it even has little shamrocks hidden into the pattern - I kid you not!
@jumpmaestro I'll have to look closer at that, I am glad to see the army get some attention budget wise, they have earned their spurs as far as other armies are concerned from their spell in south lebanon back in the 80s. The Brits moved out before the yanks & french and left their entire transports on the quays. The Irish contingent left in good order ( meaning with all equipment) even after the Israelis invaded Leb through their lines and in the face of the south leb militia under Haddad.
i am 23 turning 24 this month i am too old or would i have to go for officer training,an intelligent and helpful answer would be appreciated seriously considering joining.and if i did join would i be stuck with a bunch of 17 year olds
@hoganbomb86 For General Service, the maximum age is 25. For Cadetship however, It goes up to 27 I think. The chances of joining with 17 year olds are slim, especially because the people who applied before the embargo would now be older. Also it's usually the 17 year olds who would join the RDF first as they would still be in school.
fpvsean where did u get 12 aw139s from? ha!! dey are not rally dat gud of a helicopter its a civilian spec helicopter der is a military verion of it but we were 2 cheap 2 buy it!! dey went 4 d cheapest dey cud get offered!!
Not a great Vid but credit to ye all Soldiers/Pilots/Sailors. And as mc said "well done lads!" (not sure if there was a girl in ther if there was ... sorry)
They were sold to some South American country for half a million each including all spare parts and other equipment. That country then spent between 2 and 5 million dollars upgrading each aircraft to modern standards.
Anybody know the name of the song and artist cheers.

Would like if the Irish Army got their own camo design, right now they look like 70s British soldiers in that kit.
