Out of respect for this song I only listen to it in the Holiday Season so as not to ruin the emotional high this song brings me. It is THE most beautiful song I have ever heard or will ever hear. When I hear this song, it makes me think that maybe there is hope for this world yet. A little research reveals Christmas is NOT in fact Jesus birthday. It is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. It does state 'around harvest time' however. Keeping it real. :~)

This is the most anglical piece of music and song. No matter what time of year I hear it- it gives me peace of the Christmas Season. The original "song" (actually a composition) is called "Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel. There is also a modern electric-guitar version called Canon Rock by Funtwo/JerryC. Keep in mind that what I'm talking about is a composition, I believe the lyrics were made by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Also, I'm talking about the main song, not the very beginning song of the video.

This is a very beautiful song. I like this one better than the rock version, but the rock version is still good :) I do not know why anyone would dislike this. Beautiful song. TSO does a good job of straddling the sacred versus secular line with this song. The lyrics (while sounding beautiful) so very indirectly refer to or express the biblical Christmas story. They say “Merry Christmas” and use “He”. Note the words Jesus, God, Savior, etc. are not used. But it is certainly beautiful and more religious than “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”.
