I have the same motor ran like a chap till i tried to pull start the motor and it fell in the water.It was under for about 5 seconds, know i can't get the motor started..i got new spark plug gas filter new gas but i can't get it running.I cleaned the carb and i do get a good spark but it still wont start .Can you please help with my problem.

I didn't know that. Now I know. Thanks for the Advise (in the P.M.) about installing the needle bearings...Grease pack them when assembling sounds easier than what I was going to try. LOL
i saw those needle bearings and shuddered. Hate those things.

Yes, mine has some slack in the direction the piston moves which it shouldn't.

Another question. Should there be a little slack in the needle bearing assembly? I'm trying to decide whether my 6hp needs new components.

@seaotterxxx end play (side to side) slack...yes, but not "up and down" (if that makes any sense)

@seaotterxxx It had (what I thought) was low compression. Turns out that they never had high compression.

thats called a scavenging piston. good for torque and fuel economy .
