@Claronium780 Imagine how much worse off ALL Americans would have been had Dukakis won. Funny thing is that no matter who is President, or how much they spend on programs to alleviate poverty, there are always large numbers of poor people. Also, don't compare the "poor" in America to the real & abject poverty that plaugues millions around the world. Poorer Americans live far better lives. I would rather have a President presiding over a booming economy with job opportunities than welfare state.
