I am shocked that WLC would make as self righteous declaration such as Christians believe that God is tri-personal...
I am a Christian and I certainly DON'T believe such things. Anyways, I'm probably nit-picking here but, I think WLC is out of line making such statements regarding his beliefs.
The points of Badawi in the closing statements could have been addressed if there was more time. In Matthew 24 it is clearly shown that Jesus is going to judge all nations. It clearly shows that Jesus has some unique role or more that a prophet role.
NO-WHERE does it say Jesus will judge all nations, your giving your own interpretation. In fact, John 12:47 Jesus says he NEVER came to judge the world, and in John 5:30 Jesus says he judges ONLY as he hears, to seek the will of God
This clearly proves that Jesus has a higher source of power which he needed to judge people, proving he "by himself" could NOT judge anyone.
God is self sufficient (Acts 17:25) and does not need anyone's will to judge, yet Jesus did proving he is not God.
Badawi could not refute the concept of the Son of God and the parable of the wicked tenants. He claimed that the title Son of God refers to a righteous servants/prophets of God when clearly in the parable of the tenants there is a clear distinction between the servants.i.e the prophets and the son.i.e. Jesus.
I love William Craig. Such an awesome debater. I'm going to be putting the video up of this debate soon.
To MuslimByChoice:
Nice video description. Very fair and balanced. I tried to find Dr. Badawi's educational background information but I literally couldn't find anything except that he got a Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University. Badawi seriously needs to update his CV, cause theres like nothing it lol (even though he could add so much more). Oh well. Thx for putting up this debate :)
For your info Dr. Jamal Badawi also got Masters and Ph.d Degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington,
This is one of my fave debates for Jamal, He is indeed a great debater, no wonder Shabir ally who happened to be one of his student, became an awesome debater like his teacher Mr. Badawi
"For your info Dr. Jamal Badawi also got Masters and Ph.d Degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington"
Great, what else do you know about his education. Probably not much else. If you look at Craig's CV it's filled quite impressively, but not Badawi's. Dr. Badawi seriously just needs to take like 5 mins of his time and and update his CV. He's an international Islamic scholar who shouldn't find it hard to add a few more items to it
By the way, Shabir Ally is a much better debater than Badawi
You want more, fair enough Dr. Jamal Badawi got Masters degree Religious studies in egypt, he is also professor of both Management and Religious studies at St Mary University, but you didnt tell us how many books did Dr. William craig write, 10 20, Dr. Jamal Badawi wrote more than 50 articles and books in islam and comparative religion alone, not only this He has held more than 20 debates from the 80s till today, as far as I know Dr. William didnt start debating till recently
Alright perhaps I'm nitpicking too much here over a trivial issue. I just brought it up because when I wanted to put Badawi's credentials down for one of my videos,(it's the video of this debate here) his CV lacked the info I wanted and made me a little frustrated when I couldn't find it anywhere else. And I was searching for those specifics because I didn't want to look like I was being bias against him while putting up all the credentials of Dr. Craig. Cont 2
I have been looking for the video debate too, I found some parts of the video on youtube and some christian sites, but if you know where to get it, then upload it, I also heard there is another debate between Dr. Jamal and Dr. William but I dont know the title of that debate,
I bought the video debate of Badawi vs Craig not too long ago. I've just ripped the DVD to my computer so it should be on YouTube very soon :). I'll let you know.
As for the other encounter between Badawi and Craig, I don't think you can purchase that debate anywhere anymore. I know of an atheist that has the debate and I was thinking about contacting him to see if he'll put it online, but I'm not sure.
Make sure you got the permission from Dr. William before you upload the debate if you cant reach him, let me know and I will get the permission from Dr. Jamal you dont wanna lose your account becoz of copyright issues,
I thought about this issue before but I figured that since the audio is available online at other sites then it wouldn't be a big deal to put up the video. On the other hand, they are selling the video at Craig's website so I'm not 100% sure. My biggest fear is asking him and them saying no. But if I didn't ask them I doubt they would take action against my account, since there are other videos of Craig's full debates on here, and yet they haven't been taken down. What do you think?
Well I meant the full debates of Craig that are on YouTube (ie the Zindler debate). The short clips of this debate are from Lee Strobel's site which have obviously received copyright permission.
Anyways I actually have part 1/11 of the debate with Badawi online already. Do you want to comment on the quality and set up of the debate? It's on my other account "Christianjr4" and it's a private video. I'll add you so you can see it if you want?
Its funny how Craig says that Mohammed (pbuh) never had the NT in his possession, yet he also believes that Mohammed (pbuh) took ideas from approchaphle literature. That seems bizarre when you take into consideration that our prophet was excepted and awaited by both the Christians and Jews (learned scholars). Clearly if Mohammed (pbuh) had differing views then these learned men would have rejected him. This also raises more questions
I think Craig is saying that parts of the apocryphal gospels found there way into the Quran because certain sects of Christianity believed in them in Muhammad's time. I would doubt (from an historical point of view) that Muhammad had contact with the NT because he wouldn't have said the things he says about the gospel and Jesus. Even if he did have contact, he couldn't read it as it wasn't in Arabic.
Also Muhammad for the most part was rejected by the Jews and Christians.
Correction not all jews in madina rejected the prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh) some did believe in him like Kaab al AHbar, he was a jewish rabbi who lived in madina before the Hijra, same things goes to Jesus not all jews believed in him as the messiah some did and they later became his disciples
It's uploaded on "christianjr4" yes. And your name has been added to the list for people to view. When I added you it said it was "pending". Did you accept the email that was sent to you asking if you wanted to confirm "christianjr4 as a friend"? Perhaps that's the reason. If you can't still see it let me know and I'll make the video public for a while.
"but you didnt tell us how many books did Dr. William craig write"
He's authored and edited over thirty books and over a hundred articles in professional journals of philosophy and theology :)
Also Dr. Craig has also been debating for a while, mostly starting in the 90's I think. The number of debates he's done is extraordinary. I counted 40 debates alone on his website that can be purchased. I can think of at least 15 other debates that are not on there. Plus theres all the ones not recorded.
"Speaking of Shabir ally, if you say he is a good debater then you should agree that he learned it from the Best ( Dr. Jamal ),"
Sorry, but I find Shabir to be unique and separate from all other Muslim debaters I've seen. Shabir Ally is simply unmatched in his debating skill as well as his intellect. In my opinion Shabir Ally is better than Ahmad Deedat, Zakir Naik and Jamal Badawi combined. He's the only Muslim debater that I have tremendous respect for.
Why? because Arabian was comparing shabir's great debating with Jamal by basically saying he got his skills from him. I disagree with that. I think Shabir is much better and I don't consider Badawi (also Deedat and Naik) that great. They are good at speaking well, but that's pretty much it. Shabir is not only an excellent speaker in English (better than the other 3) but his arguments are of a much higher calibre than theirs.
