  • the end just keeps looping in my head like steps when you walk around

  • My goodness! I was at this concert in Madison Square Gardens in Aug of 1971. I was 9 months pregnant. I was right up to the stage. I still remember watching Ravi Shankar...they had beautiful music. You younger people have no clue. Our best in our time played for free for the starving in Bangladesh. Leon Russell gave me his scarf. Patted my huge belly too. It was later stolen from me. I am happy I am old enough to have memories you guys will never have! That is my story an I am sticking

  • Funny how this concert wouldn't have happened if it were not for George Harrison's help. It was about raising money not a competition between the musicians Maybe they were all just foolin us but I thought the entire album was wonderful Still have it

  • I GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!!!!

  • like t sound

  • Such lovely inspiration for my writing. Ravi & Friends have a phenomenal way of pushing my barriers and releasing my mind to express my soul. I don't mean to be over my head saying this, but he has the fingers of the Gods. Nothing can make me feel so free, perhaps relatively free, but not absolute, as demonstrated here. Bravo! Beautiful Souls Rejoice through the power of Ravi Shankar

  • the beautiful music he and his band are playing is enhanced by the magnificent instruments they are playing

  • Alec Baldwin sent me here

  • Alec Bladwin brought me here.

  • AlecBaldwin..

  • Sublime melodía, quisiera estar en la India, ese país me encanta, es tan bello y extraordinario, sería feliz :D

  • Woah. Just now did I see the number of people in the crowd!

  • My favorite part of an amazing concert. Shankar and his band are so focused, so intense. And look how young he looks in this video.

  • hare krishna jai shree krishna hare hare mountain hare krishna

  • 6:40 bliss!

  • Thank you for posting this, MessengerOfTheCosmos.

  • george harrison is a great musician the songs that he released with the beatles were much better than the ones that he released solo. but lets be honest both john and paul wrote better when the beatles were still together, if george was given a better chance to prove himself in the beatles then all the songs he had written for his first solo album wouldve been a lot better. all the beatles were pretty much based on the bands collaboration with each other.

  • Joy ..such virtuosic skill and depth of feeling !!! Bravo !

  • Thank U !

  • 0 dislikes is still too many dislikes

  • one of the best recordings of music ever

  • Thank god that this music exists :-) Also, thanks for posting a great quality video with great audio.

  • Thank god that this music exists :-)

  • @ssayani87 Here here!

  • love the sarod just as much or even more then the sitar

  • funny how much better this is than george harrison himself and yet he's the star of the show.

  • @robertmaxwellproduce I know right? I like his last song..and it's funny how the band doesn't know the bob dylan songs haha

  • @robertmaxwellproduce i mean you say better... but music is an art. there are no rules we all have our own styles there is no way to measure what is good and what is bad...

  • @Music100Quality when i say better, i mean to say that harrison could have done much better than he did, and shankar did his best. harrison sounded drunk

  • @robertmaxwellproduce ok mister picky man. why must you criticize? who are you?

  • 5:20. Playin' so fierce it starts smoking....

  • @zackman911 Indeed :)

  • @zackman911 ahaha thats incense. i really hope you were being sarcastic lol

  • @Kesava1975 Yes. They need to add a sarcasm font to the internet...It would make it a slightly better place, but not by much.

  • The true beauty of music is it can improve your humanity. And the concert helped the people out there to realize what kind of brutal genocide was going on in BANGLADESH in1971.American diplomats tried to fool the people but failed eventually. Thanks to this guy to stand by the bangladeshi people.

  • @partha8pratim a protest of peace of the truest nature <3

  • @partha8pratim And what do we get from them these days anywhere we go...hatred!!!

  • A beautiful set of duets between the sitar and sarod, with masters of each performing. At the time this was recorded, Indian music was still very new in America. George Harrison incorporated the sitar in several of the Beatles' recordings and really put traditional Indian music on the map for many of us. George was always my favorite Beatle, and I hope to jam with him someday in the hereafter.

  • hes a god

  • i cant find the words to do my love for this justice....
