90% of the gathering really was in her and Rey's apartment. I'm still amazed that nothing was broken or stolen. Proves this is a sane (mostly) and trustworthy crowd, I think.

that's a classic observation, you put a bunch of internet friends together and they aren't comfortable talking face to face, they all have to log in and chat online. ha. wish I could have joined y'all but with so many icons there, I think I would have been awfully shy. (could have joined stickam from the back pantry, except I can't find my way around in stickam... so it's best I stayed home)
That was awesome! SF was always in my top 5 "wanna-visit" list, wish I was on this gathering, but maybe next year. But anyway, I'm planning to visit LA & SF this summer, that is gonna be cool!

It's amazing how many Tubers do smoke, but there was plenty of air circulating to where it wasn't an issue (for me, at least).

Ah, the boat ride... yeah, it didn't look good and I avoided it. In fact, while they were all suffering, I was busy eating. Then we left the pier.
The actual event was brief, but it served a wonderful greater purpose.
Oh, and the footage in this part only goes up until Friday night. The event (and boat ride) was Saturday. So much going on, it was kind of hard to keep track, actually.

Gert, be careful what ya ask for. Oh, and we're hearing rumblings of a New England gathering sometime soon. Either AskCarrieLee or... someone else...??... has a video announcing it. If it does fly and you're able to go, you should. Even the Hollywood meetup out here where we didn't do much but stand around for 4 hours was totally worth forging through traffic.
Thanks, Norman - I remember a while back you were trying to coordinate something like this out by you, but if you ever get the chance to either put on or attend another, I say go for it! It adds a delightful new level to this entire experience.

I think you'd really enjoy a little gathering like this, especially if folks like Mic, JG2, and Mimi were there. There were more good friends meeting in person for the first time this past weekend than I realized (Maryann712 and Winger1212 being just one prime example).
Had to watch twice cause the laptop is on my knees and I can't watch and bounce with excitement at the same time. So many people squeezed in it's really funny. LOL @ both you and Jenn's comments! Yeah, Diana and I were talking about it with some others and we're both reconsidering. I'm going to have to be a definite maybe, though, until about the end of August. Kinda sucks, but it's all because of school schedules and budgeting.
That looked like more than a gathering Curt. Well, it certainly looked like a lot of fun. I am going to check some of these channels you've linked....they all seem like rather cool people.
Rory, yeah the gathering at the pier itself was mainly a blip compared to the time spent visiting and hanging out with people elsewhere - but that's okay, and in fact, it's really what I think a lot of these things are likely going to evolve into.
BTW, I'm sorry our time visiting at the pier was so "hit and run" - the rain threw everybody's plans off. In fact, we wound up leaving early to go back to Kelley's.

Yep, lots of smokers on YouTube. I don't smoke either, but these folks make it a real easy adjustment to the point where I'm no longer thinking about it after we've been hanging out for hours on end.
As for the neighbors, the report I got was that no complaints were made. We were rowdy but non destructive.
The bus ride home was a little disturbing at one point because the driver decided to show "The Core" during the second half of the trip. There's a special FX scene in there that shows the Golden Gate collapsing and killing gobs of people.
NOT exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see while I was pondering what a good time I had there! lol
Likewise! Hopefully the party at Christopher's didn't do you in. I watched his aftermath video on Rey's computer and it looked like it had been a doozy.

Excellent! We did Lombard Street on Friday too! But we looked at the bridge from the south side - did you see us waving to you? Next time I'm hanging with your group instead of the lame old dudes I was traveling with (see video response...).

Hey, the "lame old dudes" in your video didn't come off lame to me. I'm still surprised that renetto can play piano (if he's ever proved he could in a video, then I'm risking embarrassment by admitting this).
And like you said in the comment on your video, that was all too brief and "hit and run" at the pier. Any chance you're planning to go to the San Diego thing on April 19th?

Ah, the boat ride... yeah, it didn't look good and I avoided it. In fact, while they were all suffering, I was busy eating. Then we left the pier.
The actual event was brief, but it served a wonderful greater purpose.
Oh, and the footage in this part only goes up until Friday night. The event (and boat ride) was Saturday. So much going on, it was kind of hard to keep track, actually.
Vicky, I hope to meet you at one of these crazy shindigs soon.

Gert, be careful what ya ask for. Oh, and we're hearing rumblings of a New England gathering sometime soon. Either AskCarrieLee or... someone else...??... has a video announcing it. If it does fly and you're able to go, you should. Even the Hollywood meetup out here where we didn't do much but stand around for 4 hours was totally worth forging through traffic.

I think you'd really enjoy a little gathering like this, especially if folks like Mic, JG2, and Mimi were there. There were more good friends meeting in person for the first time this past weekend than I realized (Maryann712 and Winger1212 being just one prime example).

Had to watch twice cause the laptop is on my knees and I can't watch and bounce with excitement at the same time. So many people squeezed in it's really funny. You looked great all in black travelling by the way. That road was amazing. Joe has been to SF for work but I've never been. Looking forward to the rest. Cheers, Lesley

Rory, yeah the gathering at the pier itself was mainly a blip compared to the time spent visiting and hanging out with people elsewhere - but that's okay, and in fact, it's really what I think a lot of these things are likely going to evolve into.

I hadn't noticed until now how many people smoked. I had gotten used to smoke-free environments. Not sure I'd relish being in Nutcheese's hang.

Yep, lots of smokers on YouTube. I don't smoke either, but these folks make it a real easy adjustment to the point where I'm no longer thinking about it after we've been hanging out for hours on end.
As for the neighbors, the report I got was that no complaints were made. We were rowdy but non destructive.

It was. And the bridge is gorgeous!
The bus ride home was a little disturbing at one point because the driver decided to show "The Core" during the second half of the trip. There's a special FX scene in there that shows the Golden Gate collapsing and killing gobs of people.
NOT exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see while I was pondering what a good time I had there! lol
