The two movies are not even remotely similar, some people think that the trailers sound similar to parts in 300, and they do sound similar in the previews, but when you watch the movie they are in there proper context and are just plain awesome. Both movies are good but I liked Beowulf more because Im into the whole epic tale.

Beowulf was not written before anyone thought about 300 aka The Battle of Thermoplyae.The book Beowulf was written in 700 A.D. and the battle of Thermopylae was in 480 B.C. So the stories told about the battle between the Spartans and the Persians were told nearly a thousand years before Beowulf was even written. People have been thinking about it for a long..long time. Beowulf is trying to look exactly like 300 because 300 was a success and they want to market it to that same demographic.
