There can be a workaround for bassists like Pete.
So, one is a backstage session bassist wherein the sound techs can just mute Pete's amp and then throw in to the mix the other bassist's amp. Pete, nor the fans would ever know the difference.
Or , the second one is, if Pete wouldn't straighten up in playing bass, he should at least learn to mix his own amp. Like turning off the mid, and the high to eliminate the strumming sound and then he can enhance the bass and the shape.
Pete is there for show.. at this point none of their songs really need him at all. FOB unfortunately can only be FOB with him in the band because he's just there.. Just like system of a down and serje .. he broke off from them and now who gives a shit.

Fall Out Boy could easily go on without Pete from a musically stand point. All he does is write the lyrics. Patrick writes and composes all of the instrumentals (including Pete and Joe's parts. He also figures how the vocals are going to work out)
I agree with you from a melodic standpoint, the strange lyrical stylings from Pete make the band whole. Without the lyrics, it wouldn't be FoB. They could still be successful as long as Patrick is composing, but it would definitely have to be under a different name.
Though even if they did kick Pete and get a different writer, I'd still listen.

Can someone please explain to me why the bass is so far up in the mix? It sounds really, really bad. Actually, who am I kidding. I know the answer: Peter is in love with himself.

i didn't say i hate them, i'm just not a big fan of them. if theres a song that i like i'll say so and i was pleasantly surprised that i like this song.
when i first watched it i thought that i was going to be seeing a michael jackson cover and considering that they did a pretty good job with beat it i was curious

i'll be perfectly honest, thought this was going to be a cover of michael jackson but i was actually surprised. quite honestly i'm not a big fan of them but this was actually good.
personally though i think the singer (no i don't know his name) needs to be a little clearer when live

congratulations, you're the person i'm going off on. you are an ignorant person that doesn't understand how much of a musical genius pete wentz is. the way he writes everything for panic at the disco, the lyrics he does for fall out boy, just in everything, he can play other instruments too, he is just able to step back and let others take the spotlight. and no i am not a wentz worshipper, you just seem stupid enough to reply to this with a bunch of cursing and idiotic theories.

is Fall Out Boy as popular anymore as they were last year or two years ago? im not saying i dont love them (theyre one of my favorite bands) but it seems a lot of fans (mostly girls) stopped talking about them and whatnot after Pete got married and they had their baby. idk, but FOB doesn't seem so popular anymore...but i still love them <3 and im not one of those teenies who is obessed with pete..

then I can conclude that this band is pure studio performers. Because they are not worth watching. I havn't seen one good performance from them. And I've been browsing more than 10 pro shot live videos. Shame, they sure do make nice music though.

The guitarist is way to average compared to the drummer and patrick. And he apperently dosn't know the difference between distortion and clean.

it's patrick thats playing the distorted intro. and he knows the difference, he probably didn't want to do teh switch between clean and distortion, but he's done it before. watch other videos.

i'm sorry but it's defenitly not the tech-guy's fault. it's pete himself that makes it sound awful. now, i don't hate pete in anyway or what so ever but it's just obvius that he is the problem because he is, instead of just hiting the string he's suppose to, hitting all four. like a guitar, and since his left hand is blocking the other three strings you get that anoying sound. plus he jumps around alot and therefore he often play in the wrong tempo. im not trying to be rude..
