  • Stock card vs stock bikes and the bike would win majority of the time on nay given race. If you take out all the other equations then why even race? Accept the results for what they are and not, "take this out!, add this up!, better riding positions!, heavier weights!, COME ON! I owned a Vett and bikes and I am happier riding than driving but passing other cars that won't let you merge in a Vett is about just as much fun but cruising on Vett is tiring compare to riding. Just my opinion!

  • The older yamaha was when the sportbike companies were getting into all the technology the older bikes are "ancient" compared to the new bikes i'm not saying anything is wrong with older bikes because i love this model yamaha but the new ones would prob beat that car stock Just please don't put a lot of bad replies to this

  • all newer model japanese manufactured bikes are gearing or VSS(vehicle speed sensor limited to 300kmh(186mph) for all those that didnt know. An most if all liter sportbikes if un governed would be fast enought to eclipse the 200mph wall that most auto makers make you spend ridicuolous amounts of money to break..... the vette is not faster then the bike... the bike is simply limited.

  • In conclusion we can find that with the car having a better A.C. and gobs more hp it's a no-brainier it won.

    Notes:This only implies to this specific situation I.e. type race. I used a stock Suzuki Hayabusa as I don't know the number for the bikes depicted.

  • Lets apply them to the bike first. With a little research I have found the Busa' A.C. to be around .56. Imputing the second factor in it all we notice that 170 sum odd horsepower isn't much to aid acceleration in the ever increasing drag on the bike.

    On the car we find the A.C. to be closer to .30, what does that mean. To put it simply the lower the A.C. to more efficiently it moves through a fluid(air). Dully noting the 600+ hp output of the car, witch easly muscles to over come drag.

  • Time for a lesson in logic children:

    They're 2 determining deciding factors in a stright-line top-end run.

    (1)Aerodynamics=Aerodynamic coefficient= i.e. how efficiently a certain mass moves through a fluid (in this case air)

    (2)Power=horsepower=torque(for the sake of simplicity we be using horsepower, torque is another lesson

    So now that we know the 2 factors we can apply them to the situation and better understand it.... continue on next post.

  • I dont understand why you guys cant give props for the vette that weights 6 times the weight of the bike. Here is the comparison I come up with to show you how good the vette is. Lets say the R1 weight about 450lb the vette weights est. 3300lbs the corvette here makes 690rwhp ok so if you divide the hp it makes by 6 because it weights 6 times what the bike weights. the vette is using about 115hp per every 500lbs of weight which is a lot less than what the bike has in hp.Props to thevette.

  • @alex369 your rational would be better off using torque numbers, but also remember that not only are you fighting the mass of the vehicle you are fighting increasing resistance, so as you go faster the mass holding you back becomes less important than the air resistance. the car does not have 6x more aerodynamic drag, which is why bikes lose for top speed runs and high speed acceleration vs huge hp cars

  • @alex369 Bikes are light and probably have the same aerodynamics as a car, but once a rider sits on the bike, most of those aerodynamics go out the window, since the drive will create a lot of drag, unless he/she has their chest on the fuel tank, and fully tucked in... whereas the only negative for a car when the driver sits in it is the drivers weight nothing else... still cars will never beat bikes in acceleration (stock V stock) but will most likely beat them in a top speed race.

    Bikes hit a wall at about 150mph. Cars have a ton more contact patch and there for can leave you in the twisties. There is no way you can refute this unless you yourself are ignorant or are in denial. Either way your post was a waste of space like 90% of them are.

  • theres been plenty of bikes 200mph+ tho average for a fast bike is somewhere around 180. and stock you're mostly right for a bike that costs 8k or less about the 150mph max. like i said, research says a lot more than just thinking you know what you're talking about.

  • Just look it up I have a vid of this same vette racing a Busa on the 1/4 mile and been neck and neck. I also have a vid of an older c4 gen vette racing a 750 off the hole.

  • the b2k callaway vette had the record before of 254.76 mph with around 800hp and 582trq if I am correct for fastest production car legally sold for the streets and we are talking in 1988 for does of you that did'nt know :) Its pretty interesting. It's has twin turbo and boosts a total of 52pounds.

Yeah, your GSXR would take that Vette, so would a zx6r if it was ridden properly!

  • Lol true. Thing about the Veyron, it's a luxury car, so it weighs over 4100 pounds. It takes its advantage from the massive torque it produces that literally pushes the car to 250 mph, but its not as good of a track performer as other cars in its price range (a high price range lol).

  • Lol true... the Bugatti probably has a lot of potential though. They used a 16 liter engine with 4 turbos to create a lot of reliable horsepower. I wonder what you could to if you unleashed its full potential... too bad they're much too nice and expensive to be doing any work on the car.

  • try looking at how fast u go on a bike for what you spend... the r1 costs about 20 grand (nz) brand new when the corvette would cost a hundred grand for a cheap 1,90 % of bikes get past at 150 ae? do these cars your talking about cost a million bucks or what? or were u talkn about the bikes that were made not to be fast? the fast ones top out at 300+ and the turbo ones between 350 and 400 kph. those turbo bikes are about 50 grand. it would cost several million to get a car capeable of that

  • Not sure if you've ever driven a 1000 or not but the difference between the pull of a 600 and 1000 is day and night. I owned an R6 a couple of years ago before getting my gixxer 1000 and my R6 isn't even close. 1000's are animals.

  • 2002 R1 less than $10K Vette $45 and that is not 600+ H.P. so add another $15-20K and lets try a 2007 R1 with 180 HP stock and the R1 is one bad ass litre bike you are talking fractions of a milla second less then a GSXR, but IMHO alot more reliable. the busa is a top speed bike not a road racer like the R1 or Gsxr. I have an 03 limited R1 for 4 years it is one bad ass bike i would like to have seen the run from a standing stop the vette would not have had a chance to catch up.

    I've seen a Hayabusa get run over by a Ducati 999 that had Powercommander 3+NoS installed. Now that was a race!

    The R1 is actually one of the lesser powered litre bikes, along with the fireblade (if lesser exists!) The GSXR-1000 and the ZX-10 are more or less on par.
