Was looking into getting a flat rap tomorrow. Color reccomendations for pike or musky? I know you liked the silver, and i'm thinking something with high contrast so it has a lot of flash - and that's what i've heard gets the big fish going.
Oh my god this lure is AMAZING! I was catching so many little bass and even caught a Mayan Cichlid. So I was casting this thing in and stopped getting hits until... something slams it and my drag went SCREAMING. Took me 5 minutes of head shaking and jumping to get this monster 8lber! I got this lure today and I can already say it's my favorite lure.
I just got one yesterday, and went fishing with it that day. I live in Ohio, and the barometer was dropping like a rock, but i still caught fish on the thing! the pond was full a perch, so i went with the yellow perch color, and brang it in really slow, just twitching it. It drove the bass crazy, and the attacked it. when using this lure I reccomend you just give it a little twitch downward in the Eartly season.
i have the clown and the shad but the seem to like the shad hopfully during spring i can send you a video there just alot of snow here in north carolina
LOVE Rapala baits! I used to use the #11 original minnow in orange/gold for nighttime walleye fishing on the rocks. I love the Shallow Shad Rap too for just about any species that swims! GREAT lures.
Sounds like you covered it from head to hook. Good job. I like flies myself cause they can have alot of the same action for a much cheaper price. But to each his own.
