Easy explanation why they used Internet Explorer. Did Apple use Safari for their web browser on the Ipod Touch and Iphone? Seeing how Zune is a Microsoft product, it makes sense that they would use Windows Internet Explorer, seeing how it is THEIR web browser. Any of you who don't know this already. Windows is a branch of Microsoft, as is Zune. So they actually have to use their own browser. Apple could be sued if they put windows internet explorer on their device, vice versa.

Not on my ZuneHD. As an interface it's sweet but like every new piece of hardware, it will need some updates. iPods did, Iphones did and so will this. But I love it because I hate a icon filled desktop on my Mac or my PC and I'm not crazy about pages of them them covering my Itouch. I like a clean, organized design and I get that from my ZuneHD.

OLED screens actually use far more power in certain situations... colour runs from grey to grey are particularly power intensive... this is why Microsoft have a mostly dark home screen..
Also it uses Nvidia Tegra chip which uses far less power i.e. even more battery life. The browser is based of off IE. The browser has no name or logo pasted on it. download a vid or buy a movie on 360 it will copy it to your Zune HD at no extra cost. Apps are coming, as well as Gaming, they just keepin it quite for now, wait till we get closer & closer to launch. mid Sept.

Tegra chipset is nice. Uses less power then most chipsets in MP3 players. Combined witht he OLED screen should give the Zune HD some of the best battery life for a MP3 player in its class.

the zune hd is the first portable ANYTHING with HD radio. they finally invented a chip that didn't suck so much power that it was feasible to put into a battery operated device. just like using wifi (although only for marketplace in previous models.)

the zune hd is the first portable ANYTHING with HD radio. they finally invented a chip that didn't suck so much power that it was feasible to put into a battery operated device. just like using wifi (although only for marketplace in previous models.)

i think internet explorer is just the default for microsoft, because whenever you buy a dell, the default internet browser is internet explorer. Maybe it's cheaper for microsoft to use internet explorer.

also they did say they are making quite a few apps and some sweet games. i would perfer to buy the zune barely over the ipod touch but if the zune music playback quality is good or has like a sound enhancer program then i will be able to say very strongly tht the zune hd will be a lot better

why do people say it needs an "app store" it has a digital distribution channel and the means to program games for this thing is already there... XNA Studio. Now that it's going to utilize the Xbox 360's digital distribution force fully I expect that we'll start to see a good amount of XNA games on the device.

If you think about it, it KINDA is HD... a 480x272 (thats what he said; right?) is an upgrade from the usual 240x320. Something I want to know is: Will the touch screen be heat-sensored or electricly-sensored? the difference is heat you can only touch with the base of your finger (annoying) and electric (cool) you can use your fingertips to touch and drag screen. ONE LAST THING! Will this just be touch or does it have other senses like knowing it is upside down or being shaken and stuff.
