I visited the Luxor on my trip to Vegas and its pretty cool, but did anyone else notice the top floor? My trip was at the end of 2007 so idk if its changed but the top floor is kind of a deathtrap lol, the floor itself is slightly slanted toward the middle of the building and theres nothing but a waist-high wall to keep you from falling.

I'm at Luxor right now. I remember when it opened 18 years ago, it was the crown jewel of Vegas. Many other hotels have since outdone Luxor, and while it's still great, it's a second tier hotel on The Strip. Once you get over the shape of the hotel, there's nothing particularly unique about it. The unusual shape makes the hotel rooms spread far apart, and there are very few elevators. I'm on the 17th floor, and I literally have to walk for five minutes from my room to the closest elevator.

@AngelmanChocolate100 no not really. in the summer the standard (pyramid deluxe rooms) rooms are about $60. i went in april with my family during spring break, and we booked the standard rooms, but we got a free upgrade to the tower because my parents complained about our pyramid room, it wasn't clean at all. the tower is $20 more, but i totally recommend staying there. not as crowded, and a LOT fancier. the rooms have a more egyptian feel to them as well :)

@AngelmanChocolate100 Actually not really, rooms start out in the $60 range, so if you like to stay in large resorts but don't want to pay the large resort price such as $200+ at the Wynn/Encore, then this is the place for you.

I visited the luxor over the summer and i was really disappointed to be honest. I thought it would be fantastic with the egyptian architecture and style of the hotel but it really looked like its in disrepair, i dont know what those people who work there have been doing over the past like 10 years or so but seriously, if the luxor is to stay in business they need refurbishing!...BIG TIME!

@nibiphantom06 You're right, the hotel definitely looks rundown. It's looks really old from the outside. Much of the carpeting in the hallways, hotel rooms, and casino are old and need replacing. This pyramid needs a renaissance.

lousy hotel. in disrepair and slow to non-existent service. It took them 3 phone calls and 16 hours to unclog the sink in our room. Will never stay there again

@docshuck I'm sure they will tear it down eventually and build something new. If you ask me, it was a better place back when it was a stand alone hotel with the boat ride, etc. Last time I was there it looked a little worse for the wear and the food was not as good. Also, they have removed a bunch of the Egyptian stuff and made it more plain. I used to like the entrance to Rah and the cool Egyptian boat bar right next to it. Even worse, the entertainment level has been gutted.

hey there are some fake reviewers from some rival hotels of luxor...they are all fake i see the same reviews word for word about luxor on man different sites...so beware of fake reviews.I stayed at the pyramid deluxe,it was an average room,plus it feels weird and tingly to be sleeping in the replica of the luxor pyramid.The pool is great for all ages,although the main pool is 4 feet deep -.- overall none of the dumb reviews of bad smell or bed bugs in here.So take my word and have fun there!

I have met Criss twice, and know Costa, and have had hugs and kisses from their mom. They are great people! I adore Criss to no end. He is the greatest illusionist there ever has been or will be.
