  • Love that song as well as enola gay

  • absoutly fantasic

  • This more than makes up for the 1st single 'If You Want It' not being a cracking choice for lead-off single. Cynics will swipe at the musical bridge being very 'Enola Gay' but so what. Lyrically it's far removed and unlike Hall&Oate's 'Kiss On My list', Kylie Minogue's 'Wow' which is completely 'Love At First Sight' part2, and many others done by crap like Madonna and anything today, you can NOT sing 'Enola Gay' over it while it's on. They're further apart than some songs on Andy's solo albums!

  • all these sisters scared me!

  • Superb

  • Class act

  • I love the way his voice goes up at end of each line. Brilliant. Very "Morrissey"esque.

  • so brilliant - love it - I hope theres more to come, you have been away too long!!

  • I see OMD live last night (nov 5th 2010) in Ipswich after being told how good they are live. Im glad i went. They were awesome. Im still buzzing.

  • where can I buy it on the net. I just love it.

  • Welcome back OMD! I love this new album!

  • this is FAR better than the single that was released (in North America)...why o why must awesome bands release songs that are not the best as the first single....and PLEASE come to the USA or CANADA....cheers....(awesome song)

  • .....THIS IS A MUCH BETTER, (...."I think", myself) single, then the first single ("If You Want It") from the new CD. "Very" "Enola Gay" sounding, Wonderful synth-pop, like the good ole 80's days, but with a brilliant 2010 production. *****STARS out of 5!! Peace Gary in PA USA.

  • schön das sie wieder da sind,es leben die 80er...........

  • happy they are back! the new CD rocks!!!

  • Go buy the album....it's brilliant!!

  • LOVE OMD's new History Of Modern album- they're back at their VERY BEST. I love every track on the album - BRILLIANT! more please :-)

  • awesome track from the synth icons 14 years in the waiting and every track is pure omd and i would like to say thank you

  • Great song!! I always loved this band.

    Thanks for this post

  • New album now out...they have updated this demo version on the album...sounds even better if thats possible...

  • @weerab2 Except that Andy's voice cracks in the second verse... oh he sang that way on purpose on this version too?

  • this is so kool !!!

  • Yes, generically very similar to Enola Gay, but there's nothing wrong with that. Superb track.

  • It's not as good as others I've heard off the upcoming album. New babies: New toys is ace and should be released as the second single off the album.

  • Superbe et très bonne chanson ... franchement quel retour ... Bravo OMD! :-)

  • It IS very similar to "Enola Gay" but I really like it after a few listenings. A whole album on its way? Could be good!

  • endlich- nach vierundzwanzig Jahren wieder ein geminsames Studioalbum der beiden im Herbst 2010 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A respectful return to form, but they're playing it a little too safe.

  • I think this sounds very generic compared to their earlier poppier but darker work. I think they need to take a step back and examine what made that body of work so special. I suspect it was the very limitations both musically and technologically which made the sound so oddly dark and romantic - the real OMD fans want that not a remould of "If You Leave" etc. - I think "Walking on the Milky Way" got closest to this spirit and I guess that is purposeful as it is a song about retrospection.

  • I like this one!! If this is the OMD of today them I am delighted! I'm glad the boys still have that OMD formula. Bring it on. I still look forward to any new stuff though. Bring on more of their more obscure material like Angels Teep Turning and Architecture and Morality title track.

  • je to super no coment snad nekdy navstivi prahu

  • tank you for this wonderful video

  • welcome back boys!! we need more than ever (and sadly) good music of veterans musicians that still have the "spark" in their beautiful creations,....i mean there's a desert in modern music, there's no soul no life in the majority of actual bands (seems almost like the end of times, when i think of it or maybe it´s the industry that doesn't give real opportunities to the new ones, only manufacturing and creating things like lady gaga, etc etc and ETC)

  • @logonazo You are so right! If I saw and heard OMD the first time, I was electrified.

No time before I had so much emotions. OMD accompinied me through my whole life. Now I feel very sad because my wife finished our 23years old partnership and I find comfort by OMD.

  • Tak to nemá chybu. Fakt skvélý !!!!!!!

    OMD jsou jedničky !!!!!!!!!

  • @omdlenka souhlasim

  • kdy vyjde nove album?

  • @vasek8327 podle toho co jsem kde vyhledala na internetu, tak by mělo vyjít někdy v srpnu nebo v září

  • @MegaMiki777 diky

  • Like the song, but not all that crazy about the vocals-in some places it's almost yodel-y. I like it, though. I wouldn't mind hearing something in a Souvenir-type vein either.

  • It sounds great gotta hand it to them they still are pretty talented.

  • No comment to this video, wanna make a statement to this song. I hope this DEMO version will not appear on album. I´m missing the band´s character, playing together, correcting each other and perhaps someone says: "Oh please, Andy, sing this song but don´t sound like a dog". I think, Andy´s singing in this version is miles away from the sound of OMD in the 80th.

  • @mysterywaltz I agree this song is not strong enough to be on the album, never mind be a single from the album.

But I think his singing is OK.

IMO its not the singing, its the song thats a let down.

  • So 03D23036, it appears that you've been commenting on this video for a couple of months now. For someone who doesn't particularly like this track, why do you keep coming back?

  • @HubertHeever Hello. Sometimes if you listen to songs long enough they grow on you, and as an OMD fan I so want it to. Also I am interested in other peoples opinions, kind of what the comments are there for.

  • I take it that Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark is coming back, sounds like they've gone back to their roots. Can't wait to get the album.

  • love the nuns man...

    Tune is growing on me

  • 2010 at the beach. The new OMD and the new BRYAN FERRY c.d. My summer is musically set.

  • waiting for the album...

    great song! 5*

  • well lets look at it this way sister marie says may be similar to classic omd and therefore not what some people expected fair enough but its better than any of the rubbish thats in the charts today and also from another angle look what happened to omd when they did change their style

  • Something tells me 03D23036 didn't read the details for this video. Check the part above that says "The track dates back to circa 1981" which would explain the similarity to some of their early work. MultiCoventry says it right. This song is signature OMD and is a great way to introduce the new CD. Personally, I hope more of the tracks will capture some of the tried and true OMD sound that many of us have loved over the years.

  • Yes dashbootay I've seen all the comments, But in my opinion this track sounds like a lot of songs from the Sugar Tax album. But that doesnt matter, the point is IT'S BEEN DONE. MOVE ON

  • yes yes...but why dont you say the same thing to many of the new bands of today..they repeat themself over and over again...but the worst thing is...that they do it to a sound beat mix...not their own song...that were a hit and new decades ago...omd made their own style...so leave them...it's their style and sound, not stolen! So leave it and find a chair yourself to sit on.......laugth

  • answer to 03D23036

  • @nussermuss Yes Yes but in the early eighties they didnt have a sound. Every song they did was different than what came before.I think for the new album to get any airplay, they will have to be a bit creative. BTW whats with all the full stops man?

  • i hope its going to be the first single because it has all the things in it that made omd great and its definetly the best song ive heard single wise since pandoras box

  • going by some news feeds apparently it looks like its going to be the first single although no-one in fairness has heard any other tracks so i suppose its just all assumptions at the moment things can change

  • thanks! very good! love omd!

  • Yeah I thought it sounded very much like Enola Gay.

    However its a great song

  • Comment removed

  • great new to be single from omd andy seems to be singing this in the sort of AREA way the song from years ago and the enola gay/pandoras box crossover tune is mesmerising

  • Like the old days roll on the new album and roll on Birmingham tonight shame about the support band (Simple Minds)

  • I'm sorry, they've done some truly wonderful stuff.

But this isn't it. Not experimental, not great synthpop, just a bit so-so. But hey, still a great band.

  • Prima OMD-Sound. Freue mich so sehr auf das neue Album und wünsche mir eine OMD-Deutschland-Tour!

  • AH!! sounds very Sugartaxie, good but hope the rest of the new album is more experimental

  • Wonderful! This souds like the good ol' OMD I used to know!
