  • So, was this ridiculous situation the result of resentment of Seventh Day Adventists, or part of the ongoing pattern of persecution of White Protestants? That sort of thing, with similarly gross distortions of logic and justice, is becoming more and more common here in The Former America.

  • OH MY GOD!!! im just in shock people i have loved meryl streep since i was nine years old this is one of the movies i havent seen and i am in shock and like u said shes meryl streep she can do anything :D luv u meryl <3

  • This was titled "Evil Angels" in Australia....I was a horrible time for all concerned..the whole affair was media driven, the media took great delight in stirring the public up...it was sad to realise that the baby's welfare was the least concern....putting Lindy behind bars, was.

It's interesting to note that the case has just been re-opened as of two weeks ago....here we go again!....

  • @pyrofella Personally, whatever happened that night, i believe that Azaria should be left to rest in peace wherever she is - stop dragging her family through this; or give them the finding of death by animal attack so we don't have to see them dragged through hell again

  • THANK U!

  • Just heard about the recent dingo attack on a youngster in Queensland today and they mentioned this film. Thought I would check it out. Has to be quite good with Meryl in it.

  • she killed her kid...sicko

  • Don't get me wrong.. I love Mery Streep- But couldn't they have used an Australian actress for this? Or was it to make the movie more popular???

  • @petalovespongy Yeah, many people would go to see the movie solely because she's in it. Especially if they want to target U.S. as well as Aus., and the rest of the world for that matter.

  • @petalovespongy Why use someone else when she's the best there is?It doesn't make sense. As long as her performance is good, the accent is accurate, and you believe that she is who she says she is what does it matter if she's American or Australian?

  • @thewomaninthemoon " Why use someone else when she's the best there is? "

    - Yeah... and why not have Tom Cruise play an irishman in Far and Away, and while we're at it, why not Sean Connery as a Russian sub captain?

You're obviously a big fan of Meryl Streep, and she is very good... but just because you can't notice that her accent is contrived, doesn't make it so.

Hollywood actors love to show off that they can do accents... and the results are rarely convincing... even the great Meryl.

  • @Roper122 Is her accent not convincing to you?someone up above said "Meryl Streep is the only foreigner to do "our" accent convincingly" I personally can't tell, but then again I'm American.

  • @luvinmysailor " I personally can't tell,but then again I'm American. "

    - That's fair enough... but I'm sure you've heard foreign actors do unconvincing American accents.

It's quite good at times... then at other times.. it's not, which pulls you out of the movie.

Not that it's a great movie.

  • oh noes a dingo ate mah baby

  • @morpDprime a woman lost her baby girl that she'd always wanted, but it's cool, feel free to make fun of it some more

  • The white cradle is identical to the white cradle I bought from a 2nd hand baby boutique store around the corner from our bought house in 2006, (same store that had been around the corner from our then rented house in 2003) when ED Lilike (Lily) was a baby. We bought the white cradle with its lace drape for my then infant Son Locke. Which I painted blue along with his Daddy for him & added a wooden plane mobile. 2 years later we had YD-Anjeni (Angel) & painted Lockes cradle pink for Anjeni.

  • Thanks so much for posting, I've always wanted to see this!

  • thank you for posting all of these movies, it is really nice of you to take the time.

  • jeeze how many pics can one person need of a fucking rock?....so sad that that little cute baby died! :(

  • woman lost her kid to a dingo....sad :(

  • @aJDfMDI have you every heard Lindy speak?

  • @maddy120296, i know hugh jackman is australian, that's what made it so irritating, you just wonder why he exaggerated it so much when it would have sounded better natural.

  • Oh my! ...this movie intro brought back so many memories ...I missed the day 19/09/91 travelling to Australia ...I camped and drove 19,000 kms ...discovered the 'Devil's Marbles" ...bushwalked the Katajutas and climbed Uluru and walked around it

thank-you for sharing ...first time I've seen it

  • i remember seeing this movie years ago with my mum. thanks for the upload

  • A dingo took my baby!!

  • @shanefolan, i'm sure they have regretted that ever since.

  • i cant believe they took such a young child camping in the 1st place

  • Meryl Streep is the only foreigner I've seen who has done our accent convincingly! :)

  • @psychokitty93 Meryl does a really shitty job of the accent in "Out of Africa".

  • @ssesf, what accent does she do in that film? I haven't seen it.

  • @psychokitty93 : "what accent does she do...?" I don't know!

She plays the Danish writer Karen Blixen who moved to Kenya and started a farm there.

  • @psychokitty93 Holy fuck she's good

  • @psychokitty93 It's because she's Meryl Streep. She can do everything. :-)

  • @psychokitty93, eh, i'd say it's a bit overdone, like hugh jackman's was in 'Australia'.

  • Best Actress at Cannes and an Oscar nominee!!!

  • @psychokitty93 Sounds a little kiwi to me

  • @millertas That's because Chamberlain grew up in rural Victoria (which in itself has its own weird accent) and her parents are from NZ. The only thing Streep didn't nail was Lindy's nasal voice.

  • @casanoc Being old enough to remember not only the making of the movie but the actual events (I turned 22 in 1980) I remember Australian actresses (and I believe rightly) thinking that they were not good enough to act as an Australian. I believe Streep was selected as the big name to get into the lucrative US market. The movie "Gallipoli" (produced 7 years previously) had subtitles when it hit the US market. Not saying Streep isn't a good actress BUT???

  • @millertas Well that's exactly the reason why she was sought after. It's unfortunate but that's the reality of the Australian Film Industry I think to this day. Wasn't there a movie recently with Susan Sarandon? But there's a whole list of Hollywood actors who've done Australian movies like Dennis Hopper, William Holden, Kirk Douglas, Cheryl Ladd, Matt Dillon, Ricky Schroeder, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stacy Keach and many more. Remember Mad Max being dubbed in US accents?

  • @casanoc LOL over the Mad Max Reference but hey isn't Hugh Lawrie (British "House") the highest paid TV actor on US TV? Hasn't Toni Collette (Australian "United States of Tara") won more than her fair share of Emmys and Golden Globes? Aren't "The Wiggles" (Australian) the highest paid children's entertainers? (LOL, I saw them when most of them were performing under the punk band "The Cockroaches"). The US losing its gloss? Perhaps.

  • @psychokitty93 There's also Robert Downey Jr (Natural Born Killers, Tropic Thunder), Kate Winslet (Smoke) and even Christie Brinkley on her many public appearances on Hey Hey It's Saturday.

  • @psychokitty93 Is that right mate?

  • Thank you this is the fifth time of seeing this please post more of Sam Neill and more Meryl streep productions, They are both brilliant and Meryl Streep is to accents as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly is to moves wonderful.

  • putting her in that tent was the biggest mistake

  • Yes I am sure you are so perfect and never made one in your whole life. She did not do intentionally don;t you think she felt bad enough to the point she served time for it. Get over yourself she loved her children.

  • 6:28 famous photo

  • this was released with the title "evil angels" here in oz. another great movie was made of tis story a couple of years ago, "through my eyes" which is based on lindy chaimberlains book of the same name. it gives alot of facts that were never known at the time.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this movie! Searched everywhere to try to find it. :)
