  • good song

  • For someone without OCD you didn't take the hint that I'm not responding to you anymore.

  • @TragedySoldier Well in a more civil manner, what if I told you that coke and pepsi taste exactly the same, and when you told me that they taste different, I said you had OCD because you shouldn't notice a slight change in taste? Sounds ridiculous right? Well that's pretty much what it feels like. The pitch change doesn't bother me, I just notice it in a similar way to how people recognize different tasted. Sorry I overreacted

  • @MasterMorty Uhm. What does this have to do with my claim that the track here and my CD version sound exactly the same?

  • @TragedySoldier I have a kind of "sense" for all of the different key signatures, and I've learned to identify which one is which depending on which sense I get, just like everyone has a kind of "sense" for all of the different tastes, and they learn to identify which taste indicates which food depending on the sense they get.

  • @TragedySoldier And if you change the pitch of a song, you change its key signature

  • Every time I really get get into this song and the song stops all of a sudden and it pisses me off >:(

  • Are we we are, are we we are the waiting ....love this song...

  • Fuck you and your pitching software >.> You have officially RUINED this song with it.

  • @MasterMorty What are you talking about? This is how it sounds on the album. (I own it.)

  • @TragedySoldier No it isn't, this is pitched to Bb major, it's originally in A major. The keys are so different, it's like someone sticking a fork between their teeth, and then repeatedly scraping it back and forth for me.

  • @MasterMorty I played the one from my CD and this one. It's the same mate. You can't get much more proof then that. Buy the CD and see for yourself.

  • @TragedySoldier Pull up another video with it not pitched, and you will hear the difference. No offense to anyone, but I get so amazed how the general publici doesn't notice the slightest change in pitch, but it bothers the hell out of me.

  • @MasterMorty That simply means you have OCD. A slight change in pitch shouldn't bother you unless you are Obessive Complusive.

  • @TragedySoldier That, or I have perfect pitch, which I know I do :/ I'm not OCD, and I function just like a normal person, but musically, not so.

  • @MasterMorty Yes. You're perfect. Blah blah blah. I'm not going to continue this useless conversation against someone who complains over nothing and thinks he's great. K. The End.

  • @TragedySoldier You're so just STUPID that it's really starting to make me mad. I can almost GUARANTEE that from where you stand, you can't sing on key for CRAP, and that you play the guitar. Simply stating that I think I'm perfect proves that you're not willing to accept the fact that I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. and to prove it, here's the notes from the original recording of Billie Joe's singing part:

    B C# C# B C# C# B A E D C# A

First phrase, you can check it, those are exact.

  • @TragedySoldier No other source gives the exact singing part on the internet, so trust me, it's legit. And honestly, the fact that you suggested that I have OCD... It offends me. IS THAT THE ONLY FUCKING EXPLANATION NORMAL FAGS HAVE FOR THINGS THEY CANNOT COMPREHEND... okay, angry rant over.

  • gotta love 'em

  • This abrupt ending brings sadness to my mind.

  • GREEN DAY YOU FUCKING ROCK I LOVE YOU

  • i fucking love this song it is the best song by them it my favorite

  • @leble123 it's a great song, but it's off AI. How would someone know it previously...

    Inception?

  • like if you knew this before american idiot :D

  • With SOPA, this guy would get 5 years in jail. Thumbs up to spread the message.

  • @ningagingaproducts No, not really. Youtube would be the one that gets in trouble.

  • WAITING for 2012 album

  • ...what an abrupt ending.

  • Awesome

  • **60 years later**

    Old but Gold ^.^

  • @Antgasm14 *10 - 20 years later.

  • awesome :$

  • what is this speeding up of the song that pisses me off so?

  • randomly started singing this while i was making a toastie

  • The Jesus Of Suburbia Is A Lie <3

  • reminds me my 6° grade... good times ;)

  • Anyone know how to play this on guitar ? Just love, so i want to learn it ! DESPERATE !

  • @MrEscel8r There are tons of sites that give you tabs, just Google it man =/

  • This song is so sad I love it. Irony?

  • everytime i try to hit the dislike button my own hand slaps me.

  • I can't dislike a song from Green Day.They sing soft and hard rock but all of there songs are Cool!!This band is the best band on earth

  • in the broadway musical this song is about his friend going to war

  • Green Day's songs always were on MTV last time...

  • I love this song ^,^

  • I've had the CD since it came out, and I was mildly startled when I didn't immedeatly hear 'SAINT JIMMY'S COMIN DOWN ACROSS THE ALLYWAY!' when it ended.

    Old habits die hard...

  • why could this song not be just forever going...

    I WANT M0:00REEEE!!!

  • this is true

  • JB=DOG

    BJ=GOD

  • This song is absolutely amazing.. I mean.. seriously.. Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.. hell, MOST of the different "singers" that have come out now adays.. don't 1.Write their own lyrics.

    2. have an actual CONNECTION to the crowd..

    3. AREN'T FUCKING TALENTED. >.<

name me one "popular" band.. from the nineties that are still popular now? Besides Nirvana, Blink 182 and Green Day... xD it can't really be done.. because most of the other shit SUUUCKS!!! Thank you

  • @Raisume24 how bout sum 41?

  • @enemie4 I couldn't put them..=( it said that my "text count" had reached the limit.. and I just totally forgot them.. Sum41 and Weezer, as well... I'm just saying.. just to make a point that the "newer" ge3neration doesn't have nearly the talent that was generated in the 90's . It's all a bunch of Auto-tune, beat drop.. it's nothing what it used to be.. and it sickens me that we have to listen to it and call it. "music" now a days.

  • @Raisume24 guns n roses and metallica were popular in the 90's, does that count?

  • @MIKEY2193 Both Guns n Roses and Metallica were popular in the late eighties. ('88 and '89) I mean.. Sure they were popular, but that was because most of the mainstream was finally starting to understand that "underground" which would now be classified as Punk/alternative was becoming popular and acceptable to listen to among the radio airwaves. and what most people think is punk, usually is more just rock... Punk doesn't hold the same meaning that it did in the 60's, 70's 80's and early 90's

  • @Raisume24 How about Smashing Pumpkins, Live, Our Lady Peace?

  • 'oldies' is the best greendays first album came out in 1990 5 years before i was born and they are still popular we have gone through the backstreet boys ensync justin beiber miley cyrus and the johnas brothers in half of the period that greenday has been popular

  • This song is ranked 40 in the voted list for green day best songs, wtf is wrong with people?

  • @ingunnified lol seriously!

  • Man, I haven't heard Green Day in quite a while. The addiction commences again

  • AMOOO!

  • This is the first time I came across this song since I bought the album in 2004. Great memories.. listening to this on my walkman...It's been years and I know the lyrics sill.. miss those days.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember listening to this song on my walkman when driving to my family friend's bar mitzvah when I was eight years old. Oh my goodness, that was so long ago... But this song always reminds me of that

  • @jerseygirlxox2 i know exactly what you are talking about. i was like 6 when it came out i am now ten how old r u? <3 this song

  • @TheFlabbergasterz I'm 16

  • @jerseygirlxox2 im 14 and I listen to Green day since I was 10 I think :) Green Day ever will be the best band

  • :') Amazing... Nuff said.

  • Green Day wrote my life.

  • Can't this song be longer? LOVE IT ♥

  • (Insert comment about how amazing Green Day is here)

  • Green Day's one of those bands you cant hear for 4 years then hear ANY song they've made and be addicted to them again

  • @XboxGamerHub yup

  • @XboxGamerHub this exactly happend to me today!

  • the Jesus of Suburbia isn't a lie!!

  • I cant imagine that this song will be considered "oldies" someday..Most people of the youngest generation always view "oldies" as terrible music...alot of oldies music is good...and Green Day will go down as one of the best "Oldies" artists of all time!

  • @Tommy7448

Green Day will never go down, there are still young people who listen to good music (for example me ;))!

  • @FadToni samne here! Ive only discovered Green Day within the last year or 2..But im not just someone who is a fan of Green Day's Newer songs/Radio hits..I am a fan of Green Day 'till the Day I die..There is no "new" or no "old" Green Day..They're always gonna be green day! Im 13 now, but I wish i could've been a fan of Green Day in the early 90s when they first got their start.

  • @Tommy7448 not really..i think oldies are way better than today's music

  • @3seren that is true. I personally am a huge fan of "oldies"

  • @Tommy7448 OLD? They're still around. :)

  • @MJJAexperiance i know that, but in 20 or so years they'll be "uncool" by the younger generation..hopefully im wrong. Green Day for Life!

  • @Tommy7448

Ironic too. And Green Day's oldies (1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours - Warning) are ALREADY under appreciated.

  • @Junkpunker21 I know...and to think most of their great songs fall between that period...Im glad to see there are people out there who listen to anything by green day because they are true fans

  • @Tommy7448 oldies?

  • @Tommy7448 If the band is still making new albums, Billie Joe isn't wrinkled or not even sounding a bit close of him being old, Green Day is not known as an "oldies" band, but I do agree with you, they are one of the best (if not the best) band of this generation

  • @Tommy7448 Well im the "youngest generation" (15) and I fucking love oldies. Im into jazz, ska. oldies, classical and every other white genre you can name

  • @PatrickINcident me too..Im 14 and i listen to all of those genres you mentioned. I hope that many kids of the next generation learn to love Green Day's music

  • @Tommy7448 this isnt true for all the youngesters, i love the oldies!

  • @xoxOrangeJuicexox same here. but unfortunately the majority of the youngsters hate oldies..and Listen to mainstream such as Justine Beaver, etc.

  • @Tommy7448 Then lets be the minority! ;D ( pun intended lol)

  • @xoxOrangeJuicexox sure! Because we don't need their authority (Pun intended) :P

  • I LOVE YOU GREEN DAY :D *-* <3 <3 <3

  • What's with the abrupt ending? Surely I can't be the only one dissapointed?

  • @singing247superstar well that's how it transfers to st jimmy so if you listened to them on a cd, there wouldn't be an ending

  • for the 8 people that disliked this.... i dont give a crap and neither do they, pointless to dislike isn't it?

  • I see in the future kids going turn that music off it is the "oldies"

  • my girl said that green day is shit

she ain't my girl no more

  • Why are all your videos higher than the actual songs?

  • where is omgitsfuckingawesome button?

  • are we we are (bis x71264873614)

  • Still remember the days when this song was in my cassette player.

  • Respond to this video...

  • Lets have a moment of silence

  • THJUMBS UPPP

  • Where's the lyrics?

  • @Andrew127100 in the description =)

  • Is it me or did it end short? Like it seems like it cut off the exact ending of the song. Am I right?

  • @hollysue1998 cause this song goes straight into st jimmy so if they didnt cut it off you would hear the intro to st jimmy

  • @guitarfreak159 Good thing the downloadable versions are all connected :D

  • this is one of my favorite bands green day rules!! =D

  • fucking beautiful

  • Who or what is The Waiting and am I part of whatever it is?

  • I freaking love this song, it's so god!

But am i the only that think it's better live?

  • When i have kids im so raising them on good music lol

  • @catlady1010 Yah, I seriously think they're magic. Lol.

  • I honestly listen to Green Day and cry. I don't tell anyone 'cause obviously, that would be creepy. Lol. But I just love them so much I get emotional. I haven't been to a Green Day concert yet, but I know when I do go, it will be the BEST night of my life. They're the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. Thank-you Tre Cool, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Mike Dirnt. Thank-you so much.

  • @ilyjoesphadam oh my gosh. i swear to god, i feel the EXACT same way. Literally, i was thinking this EXACT same thing last night! They helped me get through one of the worst times in my life. When i listen to them i just feel happy. They make me want to listen to music. They make me want to do everything. Crazy as it sounds, i feel like a better person since i started listening to them. I love Green Day and i always will.

  • arghhhh to many winks lol ;)

  • @iheartbilliejoe999 there's no such thing as too many winks ;) ;) ;) ;)

  • @kittykate1787 lol ;)

  • Best Album by them in my opinion.

  • me too i am 13

  • I'm normally a giant fan of death metal, really heavy stuff. Even I've loved this song since I heard it.

  • Jesus Of Suburbia is a lie? :'(

  • I'm pretty sure this is one of my top favorite 13 songs on the album.

  • @TheSuperSarah911 Same here. ;)

  • Holy shit... Nostalgia hit me like a fucking train!!

  • The rage and love, story of my life.

  • @bluedragon64 I think u were right other then the fact that St. Jimmy is the person the Jesus of suburbia is a person that he sees when he is high like a subconsicence type deal hence "the Jesus of suburbia is a lie"

  • I'm 13. What if in the future, I'll be listening to Green Day in my 30's and my kid will say: "Mom, turn that crap off. I'm listening to Willow Smith"

    Omg total heartbreak.

  • @diianaCR97 Im 13 too! Wanna make out? :D

  • @jamrush123 sad....

  • @jamrush123 LOLOLOL. No thanks, dude.

  • @jamrush123 i think hes a boy too

  • @jamrush123 a boy...

  • @diianaCR97 I think even Willow smith won't be trendy then... though this provokes the thought that there's even worde than that... *shudder*

  • @diianaCR97 Do what my sisters and I have done with my little sister: Train them to like good music from a young age. Sure, she's heard some inappropriate music, but it's worth it!

  • @kittykate1787 i play this to my lil' sis to get her to go to sleep and now she loves green day ;)

    its like hypnosis ;)

  • @diianaCR97 well... i dont know about you but, i will spank my childs ass hard

  • @diianaCR97 NO MORE SONS.

  • @diianaCR97 i think about that all the time... :'( it saddens me... i dont even want to talk about it!!! imagine 50 years from now oldies radio stations are gonna be playing Brittney spears and black eyed peas... and Green day (older green day) will be... nothing!!! :'( :'(

  • @diianaCR97 Only 13? That's pretty young, but I'm not that old either. I don't think Green Day is your generation. I'm 17. Green Day is more in the earlier 90s and late 80s generation

  • @EviILink more like early to mid 90s, as only the Class of 1990 at Pinole High heard the 80s Green Day.

  • @EviILink Recently 14 and yes, it is earlier. But, I love their older stuff as much as their new songs.

  • @diianaCR97 Yea. Tis' a shame how generations forget about the good music. I'm 13 and I've listened to this band since I was like 8. I love rock, classic rock. That's real music.

  • @diianaCR97 no your kid will say "Mom turn that off I' listening to Justin Beiber"

  • @Jenny77901 God forbid.

  • @diianaCR97 i know
