i think in the next update notch should put in sheep sheers, that lets you get more wool from 1 sheep, and it doesnt do damage to the sheep. cuz if your dog is following you, and you smack the sheep for wool the dog will kill it :(

A way I have found effective in grinding peaceful mobs is, at night find a dark place, like 20 spaces away from your house. Then put like 4-8 torches down and fence the area off. Leave for like 1 minute and come back. At that time plenty off mobs should have spawned. (I have my area by a small water, I don't know if that matters)
